A fire hotter than anything I’ve ever felt burns its way through me, love, passion, and even a little bit of anger come with Mael’s arrival.

The burn is soothed by a cool energy, a peaceful, almost meditative, feeling from Zohar. His dew drop inside of me pulses, letting out slow and steady waves that I time my breathing to.

Next is an energy I’m not as familiar with, but still adore. Time seems to slow as the intrusive energy of Necos runs through me. It checks every nook and cranny of my body, brushing over the energies of my other mates, before settling. He lends me his strength, his wisdom, his calm.

And then, I hear singing. The singing I hear when I talk to the plants, to be specific. It rings through my mind, but this comes from my earthanima nexum. Jasper has joined the party, willingly as well.

He’s offering me his peace, his vitality, his support.

My magicae settles, but I don’t have the strength to continue. I slump into a heap on the floor, and two sets of hands start comforting me.

“Shh,” Etrix soothes. This isn’t the first time I’ve had an epic breakdown in front of him, but he reacted just like he did last time. He was there, and that’s really all I need from him.

From all of them.

“We’ve got you, little love,” Vitalis murmurs. “Sleep. Rest. Recharge.”

And I listen because I can’t do anything else.

ELZORA

There’s fighting happening around me. It’s in hushed whispers, coming from the familiar voices of Vitalis and Etrix. They’re trying to stay quiet so they don’t disturb me, but it’s a foolish thought.

The simple fact that they’re fighting, their magicae clashing, is enough to wake me up.

But I don’t make my awake status known. Instead, I continue laying on the sofa, listening to the two men bicker.

“You have a fucking cheek,” Etrix says, and I can just imagine the way his eyes are rolling as his face scrunches up in disgust. “I might not have told her the full truth, but I’ve given her every single part of me.”

“I don’t want to know about your tiny dick,” Vitalis says with a shrug.

“Tiny?” Etrix snaps. “It’s huge, thanks, and that’s not what I’m on about.”

“Huge? Based on what scale?”

Etrix huffs out a breath, and slams his hands down on the counter. “I’m not going to sit here and be judged by you.”

“Sure seems like you are.”

Now seems like the perfect time to interrupt. I fake yawn, but then it turns into an actual yawn and my eyes water a little bit. I search around, bleary eyed for my glasses, and Etrix passes them to me.

After putting them on, I sit myself up and look at them both. Etrix is sitting a table a few metres away, a book in front of him that’s sprawled open. I doubt he was reading it, and based on the anger in Vitalis’s face, I bet he threw it.

Poor books.

Neither of them seem physically harmed, so book-throwing aside, I don’t think they’ve gotten physical with each other. Their attitude stinks though, and their auras both have identical red tinges in them.

“You’re worried about Zohar?” Etrix asks, sitting on the edge of my chair.

“I am?”

“That’s what I’m asking,” Etrix says with a small frown. His forehead wrinkles, but I genuinely have no idea what he’s on about. “You’ve been mumbling his name in your sleep.”

“I don’t talk in my sleep,” I protest, looking at Vitalis in embarrassment.

“Yes, you do,” Etrix says.
