We start to float, continuing to expel the energy from our bodies, whilst also absorbing it.

After this, we will never be able to harm one another again.

Probably a good thing that we got our aggression out before this.

I don’t know how long it takes until the vomiting stops. Until the world stops spinning. Hell, until I’m returned to my feet.

But I stand tall, Etrix beside me.

“We’re bonded,” Etrix points out.

“Obviously,” I say, rolling my eyes as a wave of pleasure hits me. “And Zoe’s losing her virginity.”

“Aw, two cherries popped in one night.” He bursts out laughing when I get him in a headlock, and we roll around the floor.

The difference between now and an hour ago?

An hour ago I wanted him dead.Fucking prick.

Chapter 27

Elzora

“Where have those two gone?” Jasper asks.

“Um, Whisperfelt,” I reply. I rub at my cheeks, and move out of Zohar’s arms to stand up. Ryes steadies me, and I give him a thankful smile. “They’ll be fine.”

“Are you okay?” Vitalis asks, looking at Necos sceptically. “That was heavy.”

“A fun introduction to us,” Ryes says with a smirk. “How does it feel to be dumped right in the middle of all that family drama?”

“I’m going to go see Eirik,” I say, looking around at everyone.

“What are we meant to do?” Vitalis asks, confused.

“You can answer some of our questions,” Mael says, and the menacing tone should stop me from leaving the room, but it doesn’t.

As much as I wish I could be everywhere to put out all of the fights that come up, I can’t.

And Eirik needs me more than these guys do.

I follow his essence out of the house, and find him sitting in a garden. A gorgeous garden that’s filled with so many plants. I sink into the grass next to him, running my hands through it, and send out wave after wave of my magicae.

Their singing is a sound that resonates through me, channelling happiness and virility despite everything that has happened.

“I’m mad.”

“I can see that,” I reply.

He glares up at the sky, and I sit in silence as I wait for him to open up. Eirik is one of my men who can’t be pushed. He needs to come to terms with things on his own.

“I’m so angry that he’s done this alone,” Eirik finally says. “Not that he’s on the wrong team, or that he’s technically a fucking criminal. I’m pissed that he pushed us all away and then did this.”

He sighs, and crosses his legs in front of him. “I unleashed a lot of anger on him, and said some terrible things.”
