It’s absolutely magicael.

“Apto,” she adds, and I watch as it tightens, lengthens in places, and seems to mould to his skin.

“Perfect,” Etrix says.

“Hm,” she murmurs, gesturing for him to turn. “Aurum.” A flash of green from her hands causes the pocket square to go gold.

“That’s too dark,” Fayetta says, looking at the colour. “Not for Etrix’s skin colour, but for Zoe’s. If we’re having them match, we’ll have to adjust it.”

“I need to see it,” Owlyn says. She comes to stand in front of me, giving me a grin. “You ready, Zoe?”

I nod, and then it’s my turn to be the model. She commands the robe to create, and then to fit. It’s amazing to watch, but also to see.

“Not everyone is this good,” Etrix tells me, and Owlyn smiles fondly. “If you tried it, it wouldn’t be as flawless.”

“Can I try?” I ask. When Owlyn was doing her casting, she didn’t have any visual effects to her magicae, at least not until the very end. Hopefully, I won’t either, and it looks really fun. Owlyn shrugs before nodding.

“I’ll pay for any fabric she uses,” Etrix says, and I smile at him.

“Is it expensive?” I ask.

“Very,” she replies, but doesn’t seem concerned about my using it.

“I’ll go put something on,mo sholas,” Ciar says. “Just so you can continue playing dress up.”

“How does the length feel?” Owlyn asks. “I wish I had time to draw you up something better, but we’ll have to adjust as we go.”

“Is that how you do it?” I ask.

She nods. “We all have our own methods, but I’m an artist at heart. I sketch my designs, which makes it easier for me to magick them into existence. Then the adjustments are less taxing on my magicae.”

“You didn’t make any for Etrix,” I say, confused.

“I’ve dressed that boy since he was a babe,” she says. “But you, well, it’ll take a lot of magicae out of myprimordiumto get you looking your best.”

I don’t know whether to be insulted by that or not. She walks off mumbling about grabbing her books to try and get my style.

“Not,”Etrix says, winking at me.“Owlyn is great, but she’s a tad bit blunt. I’ll maybe offer her a top-up.”

“A top-up? Can you do that?”

“I can. Although, it works better with Primordial witches because I’m one. You can, too, and yours will probably work so much better,”he says, and I frown.“But since we have no idea how yours will occur, I think we’ll avoid that.”

“Fair,”I say, and he grins.

“Boo! Stop communicating mentally,” Tien calls.

“Don’t be so rude, gremlin child,” Faye says, causing me to burst into giggles.

“Not offended,” Tien replies.

Ciar comes out in the same clothes Etrix was wearing, and I smile.

“So, how does this work?” I ask curiously. “Can I do this to any clothes?”

“No,” Etrix says. He steps onto my plinth, and gestures Ciar forward. “So these clothes are specially designed to be able to adapt, they’re already heavily woven with magicae.”

“That’s honestly so cool,” I murmur, leaning into him a little.
