“It’s gonna be okay,” he soothed. “I’m sure this is just a glitch, and you’ll be back to your gorgeous self in no time.” He grinned. “Although, I have to say, you’re gorgeous in this form, too.”

An eyebrow twitched at him, and Marshall laughed. “Sorry. Was that the wrong response? I meant to say how big and badass you look in this form.”

He got a nip on his wrist in reply, and Marshall dropped a kiss on top of his head. “No biting. Not unless I ask for it,” he said with a wink.

Ears perked up at that statement and Marshall tapped him gently on the muzzle. “Let’s get you shifted back so we can explore that further.”

With a huff, Aaron followed Marshall from the room. They left the suite, striding down the hallway. Marshall reveled in the fact he was walking unaided. In fact, he felt like he could do a five-mile run and not break a sweat. He glanced down at the wolf by his side. Aaron was big in this form, bigger than Marshall had expected. His head was level with Marshall’s hip, and Marshall rested his hand easily on the scruff of fur at Aaron’s neck.

They reached the family room and found not only Alice and Kyr, but their families, Sam, and of course, the twins. There was a collective gasp as they entered the room, and Marshall faltered, his hand tightening on Aaron.

*Safe* *Protect* *Mine*

The thoughts hit Marshall full force, and he stared down at Aaron.

“Marshall? Is everything alright?” Vaughn asked, glancing between him and his son.

“I think so? Maybe?” Marshall waved at Aaron. “As you can see, someone’s got his shifting ability back.”

“Oh, that’s wonderful,” Anna cried. She rushed across the room and dropped to her knees to embrace her son.

Aaron squirmed and whined. Marshall grinned. Even in this form, he couldn’t escape his mother’s ministrations.

“Congratulations, Alpha-Mate. Welcome to the West Mill Pack,” Alice said from her chair.

“I….” Marshall looked to Aaron for help, but of course, all he got was a wolfy grin and a tail wag. Plus the sensation of immense satisfaction.

*Mine*

“Yeah, yeah. Take that smug look off your face,” Marshall groused. He dropped onto the couch, not sure what to do next.

A nudge at his shoulder had him looking up at Saint, who wordlessly handed him a large mug of coffee. Marshall shot him a grateful look and took a healthy gulp of the caffeine goodness. He’d just managed to take a second sip when he was jostled by a large warm body jumping up next to him and almost landing in his lap. A low growl sounded, and Saint wisely took a step back.

Marshall was assaulted with possessiveness and jealousy.*Mine*echoed through his head.

Marshall gripped Aaron’s jaw and turned the glowering wolf to face him. “No! Saint is not a threat. You will not challenge him. He knows I’m yours. But he is also mine. My brother. My pack mate, if you will. Behave.”

A choked cough had Marshall realizing that the room was gaping at them, and Rafe and Blake were quietly shaking with laughter in the corner at their Alpha being admonished.

“What your mate said is correct, Aaron,” Anna said. “And what is the rule about being on the furniture when in shifted form? Hmm?”

It was Marshall’s turn to hide a grin as Aaron whined at his mother. She just gave him ‘The Look’. The one that mothers everywhere achieve on giving birth. Ears back, Aaron slid from the couch and pressed as close to Marshall’s legs as he could.

“If you want to sit next to your mate, all you have to do is shift back. You don’t need to get hair all over his clothes.”

Aaron whined again, turning his amber gaze to Marshall. Even in this form, Marshall could see the worry and the request for help. He ran a soothing hand over Aaron’s head.

“Yeah, about that. We don’t think he can shift back.”

“What do you mean?” Vaughn asked, moving to crouch in front of his son.

“When I woke up, Aaron was shifted. I don’t know when it happened. I… ah… passed out last night. After we… ah… sealed the bond.” Embarrassment flooded through him, and he got a lick on the hand in return. “When I asked him to shift back so we could talk, he couldn’t.”

“How do you know he can’t?” Richard Cavendish asked. Marshall smiled at his father. He could see his father was fascinated by it all.

“I’m sensing his emotions.” He looked over at Alice and Kyr. “Is this normal, or is it the soul bond?”

“What emotions are you sensing?” Alice asked.
