There was no need to ask twice, although he was still not sure how much she wanted. Perhaps it had been easy for her when he’d been in dragon form and nothing could truly happen… But now…

Still, he was kissing her shoulder, then lowering her nightgown, until he revealed one of her beautiful breasts, its tip so soft, so inviting, so sweet. He hadn’t forgotten its taste, and couldn’t help but caress her nipple with his tongue. She then placed a hand on his chest and was lowering it towards his belly.

It was definitely better to ask. “Do you want to wait?” His breath was more ragged than he’d expected. “Until we’re married?”

He couldn’t believe she didn’t stop moving her hand and smiled. “What do you think?”

“I’m asking.”

Her lips were by his ear, forming a whisper that brought shivers down his spine. “I’m answering.”

Her hand moved even lower, the feel of her delicate fingers against his skin more wonderful than anything he had ever felt. Fel closed his eyes, lost in the feel of her touch, then opened them to get rid of her nightgown. Her lovely body lay bare before him, but trembling.

“You’re afraid,” he said.

She tensed. “Many worthwhile things are scary.”

“No, you have to relax, Leah. I’ll kiss you until you’re ready.”

Her smile was enchanting. “I won’t mind that.”

His lips were on hers for a long kiss, then he kissed more of her body, down, down, down to that special place where he could weave magic with his tongue. From tension, her trembling changed into something different. He moved his body so that he could look into her eyes—lovely fiery eyes.

“Fel.” It was a moan, a demand, a question, so much.

He moved up, kissed her lips again, then felt her hands pushing down his trousers. Her touch was bliss.

Neither of them had any more clothes on as he lay on top of her, feeling the soft touch of her skin against his body. Her eyes had desire and love, those amazing, sweet blue eyes that looked at him the way nobody else did. Now her eyes were closing, her lips parted, as he entered her slowly, carefully, their bodies moving together, a soothing, gentle motion.Thiswas pure bliss.

Naia was tired of waiting. She wanted some time alone with River to talk, and more, and now, even though he was the one who could move through the hollow, there was no sign of him. The alternative was to get up and tip-toe to his room, hoping nobody saw her.

At least some luck was on her side, as indeed the hallways were empty. She knocked quickly and he opened.

“Naia.” He didn’t even give her a smile.

“Something wrong?”

He was tense. “Your father will make assumptions if he learns you were here.”

She stepped into the room. “So what?”

“Humans consider it a grave offense.”

Naia rolled her eyes. “Oh, you’re going to teach me about human customs now?”

River finally closed the door. “I can tell you about some of our old treaties…”

“Shush. I thought fae were wild and free-spirited—”

“The very reason why such strict treaties were written in the first place. Humans are weird.”

“Why. Thanks!”

He finally smiled. “Come here.” He pulled her close and embraced her. “I am so glad you’re safe, so glad we’re together. It’s as if we’ve climbed most of the mountain.”

“Most? You also feel this isn’t over.”
