Using the strength in my arms and legs I fight back, grasping his hands with mine as I buck my body upwards attempting to knock him off of me.
“Let me out. Shift!”my wolf calls out to me.
“No, not yet.”He snorts his disapproval at my words.
“Kael,” I call out, “Help!” It takes everything in me to ask for it, but I just need some leverage and if he can blast him with his magic I’ll have it.
“On it,” he calls out as the heavy weight on me screams in pain and rolls off of me. My wolf agility kicks in and I’m quickly on my feet, stomping on his writhing body.
“Have you got her?” I bark out between hits on Hugo.
“No, she’s chained and we can’t use magic in the room,” comes from a frustrated Damien. The fucker on the floor just laughs.
“You’ll never get her out with your magic,” he says through laughter as he’s coughing up blood. The son of a bitch has to have the key on him.
Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! “Okay wolf, time to come out and play.”

It never grows old watching when Hunter or Ryder shift from human to wolf. It’s like a beautiful song you want to hear over and over, each time finding something new and beautiful in it.
Once Ryder has shifted, he pounces on top of Hugo pinning him to the floor.Showtime!I dash over to them and begin searching Hugo for the keys to the chains. It’s hard with Hugo fighting back and Ryder’s wolf covering most of his body.
“You’re all gonna fucking die. No matter if you get her out of here or not. He’s never going to let her go, or give up the power he can gain from having her. I’ll admit she has a fucking hot pussy, and those sounds she makes when she comes keep me hard.” He taunts us, and that’s all it takes for me to snap. Pulling my foot back, I kick him right in the head, causing it to slam against the wall at the same time Ryder growls in his face.
Bending down beside him, I reach into his pants pockets. Nothing! Fuck. I stand and rush back into the room where Kael and Nela are hastily working to break the chains free from the bolts holding them in place.
“Damien, we need the keys or a fucking bolt cutter,” Nela states, as she blows out a deep breath of air.
“Kael, can’t you go in the hallway and conjure one, or whatever it is that you do when you want something?”
“If that was my power, yeah I fucking could. I’m an elemental warlock, specifically electricity and fire. So no, I can’t just fucking poof something up,” Kael says, with anger laced in every word.
“Damien,” Shay calls out weakly from the room. “The key’s around his neck.”
Rushing over to where Ryder has him pinned down, I drop to my knees as Ryder's wolf moves back giving me room to look. There around his neck on a silver chain is a key. Grabbing the chain in my hands, I yank it from his neck, gripping the key tightly in my hand as I run back to the room that Shay’s in.
Seeing her, so frail after only being here a few short days, has me pissed. But it’s the bruises littering her body that have me seeing red. With shaking hands, I take the key and unlock each of her restraints before scooping her up in my arms and leaving the room.
“Let’s get the fuck out of here,” I tell them as I pass by Hugo’s body on the floor and head back down the hallway toward the stairs. Kael and Nela are close behind me, flanking me on each side, while Ryder, who’s still in his wolf form, scurries ahead of us to take point.
We make our way hastily down the stairs and back to the hallway. Luck is on our side. We don’t come into contact with any of Mr. Michaelson’s men. Just as we’re stepping into the hallway that leads outside we run into Miles, Seb, Jack, and Landry who’s carrying a badly beaten Beba. I hear Shay’s gasps and know she’s noticed her as well.
“Ohh wolf, you can run but you can’t hide!” someone shouts from the hallway behind us. Fucking Hugo, how the hell did he regain consciousness that quickly?
“Run!” is the only word I say before we all bolt down the distance of the hallway, and out the backdoor. I want to look back, to make sure we’re clear, but I know I need to keep going. Safety is a mere seventy-five feet ahead of us with a portal ready to get us out of here.
Sadistic laughter echoes through the air as I hear a gunshot ring out. Searing pain tears through me as something pierces my left leg, but I keep pushing forward. But each step makes me weaker until I feel myself collapsing to my knees on the ground, my legs no longer able to move.
Sebastian and Miles turn and quickly rush back to me. Miles taking Shay who I’ve managed to keep from hitting the ground.
“Come on, baby, you gotta get up,” Sebastian pleads with me as Kael shoots fireballs off in the direction Hugo is.
“I can’t!”
He bends down, taking me over his shoulder before standing upright and running towards the woods. Kael keeps shooting off bursts of electricity as Miguel joins him with fire to give us cover as we move our injured across the final distance of the yard.
“Open the portal!” Hunter calls out, just as we reach the edge of the yard.
