“Are you here for the show?” the woman asked.

“Yes.”

“Oh, Sohel and I are here for the show too! Sohel loves classical music. He has excellent taste. Don’t you darling?”

“I do. That’s why I chose you, my sugar plum.” Even as he said that, the man’s eyes lingered on Sitara’s cleavage, making her skin crawl.

The woman laughed. “He is so romantic.” The woman’s eyes then fell on Aarav. “You haven’t introduced your husband to us.”

“Aarav,” he said in a deep drawl.

There was a faint blush on the Roopa’s face as she took in Aarav. The woman looked flustered.

Sitara felt a bolt of annoyance.

Aarav looked devastatingly handsome. He was dressed similarly like the rest of the men attending the live show. But something about him set him apart. Aarav Rathod always had the ability to stand out in a crowd no matter what he wore. There was a magnetic aura around him that drew everyone’s gazes, especially the women’s, even the most faithful ones.

Roopa Motiani dragged her eyes away from Aarav and looked at her. “After the show, why don’t we all have dinner together?” she suggested. “Sohel and I are used to only eating at the top-rated Michelin star restaurants. We already know which are the best ones on the cruise. Yesterday Sohel took us to a hibachi restaurant, and it was so wonderful with the chefs throwing bits of food directly into our mouths!”

Before Sitara could find an excuse, Aarav replied.

“Sorry, we can’t make it. My wife and I have other plans tonight.”

“What kind of plans?” the woman probed.

“Plans that involve a hot tub and champagne.”

“Oh!” The woman’s face turned red, wrongly imagining what they would do that night.

Sitara’s cheeks heated with embarrassment and anger.

“Excuse us,” Aarav drawled before leading her away.

As soon as they sat down in their seats, Sitara hissed out. “Why did you say that!”

“Did you want to go with them?”

She didn’t, but was annoyed by his assumptions. “Yes. I do want other people’s company. And what’s wrong with them?” Apart from giving out snobbish and privileged vibes, she didn’t see anything majorly wrong.

“The guy’s a creep,” he said.

She did get those vibes too, but she didn’t want to admit it. “You are jealous of him,” she goaded. “Because he is an attentive husband.”

“Actually, he is more of a cheating husband,” he drawled.

She was shocked. “What! How do you know that? You are so judgmental.”

Aarav shrugged. “I am trained to read people.”

“So, how did you come to the conclusion of him cheating on his wife?”

“The overcompensation. The jewellery gifts and the right amount of attention to his wife. And the way his wife clings on to him and constantly gushes about him, I’d say she already senses his true character even if she doesn’t want to acknowledge it to herself.”

Sitara shook her head. “Well, you are wrong!”

He shrugged again. “Doesn’t matter to me.”

She didn’t say anything because the live theater show began. But after a couple of minutes, she turned to look at him.
