“What!”

His mouth twisted. “Well, there is no hot tub or champagne here. So, we can pretend to make out.”

Her cheeks heated, but strangely, the idea didn’t sound that bad. “Yes, maybe we can pretend to kiss.”

“How does one pretend to kiss?” he asked, sounding amused.

“By not feeling anything! It’s only acting.”

“I see.”

She heard the woman’s voice and took a step closer to him until there was barely any distance between them. She could see his face clearly from up close. Placing a hand on his chest, she looked up at him.

“This is fake,” she whispered.

His eyes flashed. “Sure,” he drawled before lowering his head and capturing her lips.

The electric shiver that ran through her felt way too real.

Her stomach trembled hard and she tried not to show any reaction. Luckily, it was over in a moment.

“Are they gone?” she whispered, seeing his face.

“No, they are watching us. I don’t think they are too convinced about us.”

“K-kiss me again,” she whispered. “This time properly.” It was madness what she was asking. But she couldn’t seem to stop it. She wasn’t entirely sure if it was because of the other couple.

The twist of his mouth and the glint in his eyes had her stomach fluttering crazily.

This time, he gripped her jaw and angled her face before capturing her mouth again. The pressure on her jaw opened her mouth to accept his invading tongue.

Heat exploded. With every wicked thrust of his tongue into her mouth, her body trembled. The tips of her breasts hardened and the place between her legs began to throb. Her legs turned weak as they trembled and she had to grip his shirt with both hands to stay upright.

Along with passion, memories exploded inside her mind. Memories of them together in raw, passionate coupling. Memories of clutching him while his body drove into hers. Her body began craving that intimacy again.

She moaned when his tongue thrust against hers, forcing her to accept the taste and texture of him. She met his tongue with hers.

But suddenly, the heat of his tongue and mouth were gone. She opened her eyes and blinked in confusion.

“They left,” he said.

Her face heated when she realized it was only supposed to be a fake kiss. Snatching her hands away from his shirt, she fumbled back a step.

She felt an immediate loss of the absence of his body heat.

“G-good, they are gone,” she said, trying to sound casual, but failing because her voice held a small quiver.

He didn’t say anything. They began walking inside towards their cabin suite.

The air felt charged and the awareness hit the roof. She desperately tried to think of something to say to cut through the tension. But she couldn’t find words or even the ability to speak. Her breathing was still uneven and her throat felt tight.

He scanned the keycard and opened the door of the suite. He stepped in, and when she took a step inside too, he looked at her. “Wait here,” he said.

Wondering why, she watched him as he glanced around the living room and checked the balcony doors before going into the bedroom to check inside.

He came out in a few minutes. “All clear,” he said.

She frowned, thinking it was a bit too much to think someone would break in. She still didn’t think there was any danger to her on the cruise. But she didn’t want to argue with him.
