I couldn’t even work out of that was an innuendo or not.

Beside me, Waggoner stirred. I knew the second he realised that he’d been sleeping against me because his body stiffened. I decided to talk so he wouldn’t be embarrassed about napping on me.

“Hey, do you feel better for resting?”

“Um, yes, thank you.”

He pulled away and sat up straight. I instantly missed his warm weight against me.

“Do you want a drink? You need to stay hydrated.”

I was already pouring one out, so he took it and sipped at it.

“Do you want to watch another movie?”

To be honest, we could just watch the same one again since I hadn’t been paying the slightest bit of attention and Waggoner had fallen asleep.

He looked up at me. My breath caught at how beautiful he was. His hair was silvery white, a delicate colour that made him look somehow… expensive. Classy. And the way he was angled to look up at me right then through his lashes did nothing to calm down my alpha instincts. Every part of me screamed out to protect, to care, to claim.

He said, “I don’t want to keep you. You must have things planned for today.”

I grinned. “Nope. No plans at all. I’m all yours.”

His eyes skittered away. I couldn’t tell whether he was uncomfortable that I was coming onto him so directly or whether he liked it and just didn’t know how to respond.

I thought about asking straight out. After all, we weren’t in class any more. This wasn’t about him being a professor, this was about the two of us, just two men together.

“So… another movie?”

“Um, I guess. No, I don’t know.”

My body cried out to hold him close. “Come on,” I coaxed. “I was enjoying sitting here with a cute omega.”

It was not what I wanted to say. I wanted to ask him if he’d be more comfortable sitting on my lap with my cock in his ass, but that was probably taking it a step too far.

He blinked at me.

Then he pulled away.

He stood and paced around the couch. I watched him move, noting that he favoured one leg slightly. I hoped he would heal quickly – I didn’t like him hurt.

“You know, you shouldn’t say things like that to me.”

“Why not?”

“Because they’re inappropriate.”

“Why? Because you don’t want me to say them?”

“Huh?”

He looked over and I saw him looking strangely small and out of his depth. I was so used to him being the expert, knowing exactly what he was talking about, that it took me far longer than it should for me to realise that he wasnotthe expert in this.

He didn’t know what to do.

“I’m asking whether you don’t want me to say that because it makes you uncomfortable or whether you just don’t want any trouble with the university.”

“What’s the difference?”
