‘Oh, I would certainly win, Mouse. I always do.’
‘I wouldn’t say always always.’ I tried eluding him and sneaking out of bed.
‘Always always.’ He grunted, tightening his grip on my waist and pulling the sheet on top of us.
He was craving for round three, and from the way his lips melted on my nipples, I had no chance of escaping the will of his body.
Except... ‘The brunch starts in about ten minutes. The guests have begun showing up. I hope you’re getting dressed.’ Cole’s mom knocked on the bedroom door.
That got a quick growl out of him as he felt he needed to abandon his mission. ‘Shit! I totally forgot about that,’ Cole whispered, just so only I could hear him.
‘I hope you didn’t forget.’ Apparently, Mrs. Clayborne was a psychic.
‘No… I was just getting dressed.’ Cole’s voice echoed from somewhere between the sheets.
‘It looked to me like you were getting undressed.’ I had to make fun of his misery.
‘I completely forgot about this. My mom is friends with all the rich hags around here. Everyone who is anyone in Echo City is going to be at this brunch. I need to charm my way to get them to choose Ferris as governor.’
‘Hmm. What doescharm your waymean?’ Half of the Echo City Elite drooling over him didn’t really go too well with my temper. No matter the age.
‘Whatever it may take.’
‘Are you for real?’ I was already out of bed, getting dressed to leave.
That certainly stirred a smile on Cole’s lips. ‘I was only joking. But now that I see how worked up you are about it, I may put it to practice a little. I like seeing you boil. It turns me on.’
‘Then maybe you can arrange to have the hags also fix your manly problems?’
‘A- I’m only going to this brunch because you got me involved in all thissaving the citything. B- I only want you to fix mymanly problems.AndC- you’re the biggest prude I’ve ever known. Who saysmanly problemsanymore?’
‘Educated people,’ I muttered, trying to shut him up.
‘This isn’t about education. At least not after how we got here. It’s only about exploring your sexuality.’ He jolted from bed, throwing the sheets that covered him away. ‘This is a dick, not mymanly thing.’
‘Jesus, Cole.’ I covered my eyes with my palms so that I wouldn’t see him naked for too long.
It only made things worse since the devil decided to come my way, removing my hands from over my face. ‘I’m going to have so much fun over this.’
‘Can you put some clothes on?’ I tried ignoring him without any real chance of success.
Quite the opposite, his lips sneaked between my rebellious curls to whisper in my ear, ‘When you think of it, how do you call it in your mind? How much of a prude are you?’
Judging by what he said, a hundred percent prude.
‘I don’t think of your...’ Worst self-defense ever.
‘My...’ He was expecting me to fill in the blanks eventually.
Shit, maybe I didn’t turn into as much of a badass as I thought.
Obviously, I didn’t continue the conversation.
And also obviously, he didn’t leave things that way.
‘Dick.’ Cole laughed the word out and then walked into his dressing room to find something to wear. ‘No offense, Mouse, but there’s not a chance in hell you’re not thinking aboutit.’
