Chapter 11
Brax didn’t walk me inside, and to be honest, I was surprised he even drove me to the estate himself.
It was a night of change. And speaking of change, as soon as got out of my mobster’s car, I walked straight to my room to escape my dress and get straight into bed. Little did I know I had a surprise waiting there. ‘Cole!’, I uttered, turning on the lights and noticing him wrinkling my bedsheets in a tangle of lazy limbs and purple cotton.
‘Were you expecting someone else?’ His question wasn’t exactly rhetorical since the chance of that happening was real.
That was exactly my problem. I didn’t know how to handle the situation and juggle the time spent between all of my kings. I just hoped that things would eventually settle down on their own. Because the alternative was inconceivable. I was far from being able to let any of them go.
‘I wasn’t expecting you, that’s for sure.’ I shrugged, still surprised by his presence.
Surprised, but not disturbed!
‘Do you want me to leave then?’
‘I never said that. I just need to get changed.’ I walked into the dressing room to find something else to wear. It just didn’t seem right to be wearing the same clothes I picked, especially for Brax, with Cole.
In reality, I was pretty sure he didn’t even care. But I did, and this was one of the mental limits that was making things much more complicated for me. I wanted them all, although I had no idea how I would manage the situation.
I returned dressed with a loose top and shorts. The seduction was over for the night, at least my attempts to seduce anyone else. Plus, Cole didn’t need much seduction anyway. He found me attractive even if I was to wear a black bin bag as a dress.
‘You look so hot in these shorts,’ he said, proving my point.
I slipped between the sheets, finding a place in his inviting arms.
‘You think I look hot in anything.’ I chuckled, giving him a small peck on the corner of his mouth, then melting my lips on the side of his neck.
‘That’s because you do. But I think you look even hotter without clothes.’ He rushed under the sheets to find the hem of my shirt.
However, my mind was all over the place. ‘Slow down a little.’ I needed some time out to get over what I was certain would prove to be a failure— my attempt to win Brax.
‘Why? Did you have sex with Brax?’
‘Jesus.’ I jumped right out of his arms into a sitting position. ‘You can’t ask me questions like that.’
‘Yes, I can.’ He smiled, tilting his head to look at me. There wasn’t even a shadow of jealousy lurking in his gaze, and that was leaving me speechless.
I didn’t answer. Just threw myself back on the pillows to stare at the ceiling. I had an idea where Cole was going with the conversation. And I wasn’t prepared to go into details.
But his intentions were too pushy to be ignored.
He yanked me to cradle against him as his quest to dispose of my top continued.
His palm found the shape of my navel. ‘Did he touch you here?’ Cole’s question shocked me even more than the previous one. Yet again, it didn’t hide any kind of resentment. It was dripping with heated arousal, so sensual that the words seemed to have an effect on me. ‘Or here?’ He raised his hand beneath my shirt, cupping the size of one of my breasts, then running his thumb over my nipple, hardening it on the spot.
The movement was so sensual and pleasing that it left me breathless, confused as to how exactly I was beginning to fit into this game.
I arched, flashed by the tingles that spread across my body in a combination of lust and intriguing curiosity.
My conscience wanted him to stop.
But I didn’t.
I wanted him to ask all the inappropriate questions. Anything to enhance the ravaging storm that was starting to break the horizon.
And the chances of him continuing this game were increasing by the minute.
His eager lips raced to the fine line that marked the upper side of my shorts. ‘Did he kiss you here?’ He traced a line straight to my navel, making me capture his head between my arms as I instinctively turned into a human ball.
