‘This is a little too much, don’t you think?’ she tried to speak between the tantalizing dance of our tongues.

‘Is it?’ I asked, unwilling to let go of her lips just yet.

I was still keeping an eye out for my target, but the little game we were playing was quickly escalating to something I needed to materialize to the end.

‘I’ll pay extra for the inconvenience,’ I said, keeping her bottom lip still captive between my own.

I knew it wasn’t that much of aninconvenience, but I wanted to see how she would react to my words. And from the distress in her eyes as I said it, I understood that I had a green light to go on. ‘Or I could ask you to join me for the night.’ I was raising the stakes again, clenching the hand I held over her back even tighter to consume her with another union of our lips.

This time, she didn’t respond to my gesture, acting more scared than excited about my proposal.

I wasn’t sure where her new attitude was surfacing from. I read her file. I knew she was single. Besides, I have felt the undeniable chemistry between us, so I didn’t see anything stopping us.

‘I will try to behave if that’s what you’re worried about,’ I whispered, with every intention ofnotkeeping that promise.

She was awakening in me something more dangerous than I would like to admit and that was offering all premises that the night would end up in flames.

‘I am not in the habit to ever do that,’ she breathed as her words were losing their strength.

From the second I laid eyes on her, I didn’t figure her out to be the type to have one-night stands, but that didn’t mean I couldn’t be the exception. ‘Make it your habit with me.’

And if she needed a little convincing, then the warmth of my lips gliding across her jaw line was adding another motive to the list.

‘You got it wrong... Not in my habit entirely,’ she all but whined, gazing at me like I just broke some kind of spell.

Shit...’You mean..!?’ I stopped to look at her, still processing the info. She was a fucking virgin. That option would have never crossed my mind. But as the inception of the thought was there she instantly became more than the fuck of the night.

She became a collectible.

‘Mmmm...You never know how the night might end,’ I wasn’t going to back down from the kiss, and there wasn’t a chance in hell that she could deny me of one, especially with that lava-heat surging through my body, demanding me to bed her.

‘Let’s get you upstairs.’ My request had a hidden meaning to it, and from the worried look in her eyes, I would have my work cut out for me.

I didn’t let go of her as my plan was carrying me to explore all corridors in the mansion.

To the untrained eye, it seemed we were two heated lovers looking for a room — the perfect cover-up.

‘Wait,’ I shushed her, stopping almost in front of an open door. The men inside couldn’t see us. But we could see them, and my target was amongst those in the room.

I could count three men. That was certainly messing up my plans. Killing all three wouldn’t be a problem, but the potential noise was making it a life-threatening situation for me.

I was assessing all my options, and the one that made the most sense was to wait and hope to get a chance of getting him alone.

‘Here,’ I grabbed Bea’s hand, taking her to a large balcony that stretched from the lobby past several rooms on the second floor.

I swiftly closed the door behind us. We needed to wait. That’s all Bea needed to know.

And since we were waiting, it saw no point in blowing our cover. ‘Get back here,’ I took hold of her hand, drawing her against my chest again. ‘We can’t afford to look suspicious if anyone passes by... In case you were wondering...’ It was half true, half false. I was trying to get a lot more from her than just a few swirlings of her tongue and I was working my way towards that.

‘What if-,’ she didn’t get to finish her idea before her phone interrupted us.

I was pissed off at first because she didn’t even think about asking for permission to answer, but only after the first seconds, I realized there was something serious going on.

I’d always had a sixth sense for trouble. I could feel it from miles away.

And I was right.

The second the conversation ended, Bea had transposed herself to another place and time, turning batshit crazy on me.
