“Those witches were Dark Arts,” Parker says. “What exactly aren’t you telling us?”

Damn it. I let out a sigh. “He was also possessed. Don’t worry. I exorcised the spirit and sent it back to hell. He’s still unconscious because of the knock-out spell, though. It was a strong one. Only a demon can ignore it, apparently.”

Amanda’s worry heightens, and I scowl at Parker.

He scowls right back at me.

I guess, maybe, we both have a point.

“I’m just glad everyone’s okay,” Amanda says after moving her attention from Sean to us.

“What happened?” I ask again, wondering about Amanda’s sudden ability to teleport.

“Amanda joined a coven and they smacked down those Dark Arts witches. Rachel’s taking them in as we speak,” Parker answers when Amanda seems stuck for where to start.

I blink at my mate. “You joined a coven?”

It makes sense. Covens can summon magic reserves from Freya. That’s why she has power.

Still, something doesn’t totally add up. “Covens need at least three witches…”

“Rachel brought her friend Cheryl,” Amanda adds. “Rachel’s the coven leader for us both.”

“And you’re happy about this?” I ask.

She nods. “It happened kind of fast, but I’m happy about it.”

It all sounds good, but I can’t help feeling wary.

“You’re sure he’s okay?” Parker asks as his eyes rake over our Alpha’s sleeping form suspiciously.

“Of course I am.” Sometimes I think Parker doesn’t get how big a deal it was for me to let Sean mark me. I didn’t make that decision lightly, and I didn’t let it happen until I was sure.

Sure that he wasn’t looking to use me, and sure that I was willing to do whatever it might take to serve him as my Alpha.

“Hmm,” Parker murmurs.

Amanda lets out an exasperated gasp. “Would you two please stop it? He’s fine, and we’re all safe and sound.”

She starts to get up, and Sean’s hand closes around her wrist.

He opens his eyes and I hold my breath.

Parker frowns at me.

“Amanda,” Sean says, smiling at our mate. “You’re safe.”

“I am,” she tells him, letting him pull her closer.

He moves on the couch, and she settles in next to him when he makes room.

They get cozy together, and this time I’m with Parker when he pulls a face.

Seems like our Alpha’s been hogging all of our mate’s time lately. Doesn’t really seem fair.

“I think you should get up and walk around,” Parker says. “You’ve been passed out for hours.”

“Hours?” Sean asks, raising an eyebrow.
