“Ooh, a séance,” Oscar says. He picks up the cherry soda and cracks the can open.

I lean back in my seat. If that Beta bitch caused any of this, when I’m through with her, she’s going to wish her soul was sacrificed to the Dark Lord.

Chapter Sixty-Three

Noah

Georgia and her kid stay pretty quiet on the ride out of town. She spends a bit of time writing in a journal, and the kid, who started off hyper-excited to teleport outside and see an invisible car re-appear, is surprisingly quick to fall asleep next to his mom in our backseat. They packed one medium sized duffle-bag in about two minutes flat while we waited to teleport out to the car.

I closed my eyes, and I didn’t feel the need to puke this time, but my empty stomach doesn’t help my nerves on the drive back. Rachel didn’t want to spook them, but we’re going to need Georgia’s help when we get home.

What if she doesn’t want to speak out against the pack she just ran from?

Will that witch take our word for it that she asked for our help to escape a hellish situation?

Will it be enough to save Oscar from being brought here?

I don’t have answers. All we can do now is wait.

We get to the mansion a little after three, and the fuel gage is on empty. Everett’s going to kill me, but lucky for me he has a longer kill list than usual, with Limestone Ridge’s Alpha right at the top.

“This is it,” I tell them.

Georgia smiles. “It’s beautiful. Thank you so much for bringing us here.”

I look at Rachel. She mouths, “Once we’re inside.”

I step out of the car and open the door for Georgia.

She comes out with the bag, leaning down to lift the kid into her arms once she’s out.

I close the doors and lead the way to the house.

Rachel gets out after a second’s pause. “I need to get some air.”

She walks out of the gates and leans against them.

I get to the front door and unlock it, wondering what she’s doing.

She texted Cheryl to tell her we’d be bringing Georgia and Leo back with us, and she’d warned her that we didn’t discuss our situation. That’s up to Everett and Cheryl to tell them. They’re our Alphas, and they apparently agreed that we shouldn’t talk about it until they arrived.

Rachel showed me the conversation on her phone on the drive back.

Nowhere did it say she’d be standing outside when we got home.

“Welcome to our home,” I tell them, leading them inside.

It seems like everyone’s still in the lounge. I close the front door, not locking it because Rachel’s still outside.

“Come meet everyone,” I say, wishing I didn’t feel like I was springing a trap on her.

Georgia’s smile is nervous as she follows me out of the hallway and into the lounge.

Cheryl and Everett stand up as we enter the room. Cheryl smiles at us but looks past us.

“Rachel’s still outside,” I tell her. “Getting air.”

She nods. “You must be Georgia.”
