Harmony

As Harmony walked sidewaysinto her home, Saint followed behind with a low chuckle. He’d created a party for the ages in her honor. It was karaoke themed, and everyone that showed up turnt up. At the door, all were required to write her a message in a memento book, which Harmony was sure would have her sentimental for years to come. She had the time of her life with her family and friends and the friends and family she’d gained through her relationship with Saint.

By the time they made it back to her place, she was high and tipsy and feeling damn good. As hard as Angel tried to get her drunk, Harmony resisted. She wanted to be sober enough to end her night making love to her man. Though they’d already gone one round earlier at his place, Harmony wanted one more before her birthday festivities were over.

Any time she was high, everything was magnified. There was no doubt in her mind that the lovemaking experience that would soon ensue would have her feeling like she was in another world. Harmony began to undress as she walked down the hall, though it didn’t take much to slip out of the custom white and black jumpsuit and six-inch heels.

“It’s like that?” Saint confirmed, wrapping his arms around her.

“Just like that,” she replied, unhooking her bra and letting it fall to the floor.

Entering her bedroom, Harmony was completely naked.

“Get on your knees then. Let me see just how wet that pussy is.”

As her smile spread, Harmony climbed onto her bed. Before assuming what had become her favorite position, she lay flat on her back and told him, “I wanna tell you something first.”

“What is it?” Saint asked as he undressed.

Harmony waited until he climbed into bed and hovered over her to say, “I love you. I wanted to tell you earlier, but I didn’t want you to think the declaration was tied to your hand instead of your heart. I didn’t want you to think it was about the materialistic things you provide me. It’s about you, Saint.” She cupped his cheek. “Your core… your character… who you are. I love you, unconditionally, and though you’ve made this the best birthday ever, having you as my man is my favorite part.”

His chest caved as he closed his eyes.

“You love me?” Saint repeated softly.

“Yes, babe. I love you.Somuch.”

He chuckled and hung his head briefly, and Harmony found the sight to be adorable. When he lifted it, Saint confessed, “I love you, Harmony. It was so easy for me to list the things I loveaboutyou, and in that moment, I realized I loveyou—totally and completely. I love you, bae.”

Pulling him down to her lips, Harmony poured every ounce of love she had into the kiss. Not long after, Saint began his descent down her body and led her straight into euphoric, orgasmic bliss.

“Did you enjoy your birthday?”Keith asked. She’d called to thank him for the gift he had delivered the morning of her birthday, though she was a day late doing so. When Saint told her to clear her schedule for what he had planned, Harmony got so excited she’d forgotten to call. Keith had booked her a weekend away at the wellness resort she’d mentioned wanting to go to in Sedona, Arizona, and Harmony honestly couldn’t wait to go.

“I did. Saint threw me a party, and everyone came out and showed me love. My parents were even there and danced to a few songs.” Harmony chuckled in recollection. “It was a good time.”

“Well, I’m glad you enjoyed yourself.”

“How’s Washington?”

“It’s going well, actually. I finally found me a place here so I could move out of Marcus’ spot. Now that I have my own place, I don’t see myself returning to Memphis as frequently.”

“Oh yeah?”

“Yeah. Ain’t too much there for me anymore. Me and my folks are cool, but you know how my relationship is with them. I do more for them than they do for me, so I’m hoping to plant my roots here and start a few relationships that are healthier for me.”

“That makes me really happy, Keith,” Harmony admitted, smile evident in her tone. “You deserve it, for real.”

“Thank you,” he replied bashfully.

“Text me your address so I can send you a housewarming gift.”

“That isn’t necessary, Harmony, but I appreciate the thought. Actually, if you want to send me something, I’d love to have some of those candles you be buying that smell like linen. I’ll Cash App you if you can buy them for me and ship them here.”

“I got you.”

“Aight, baby girl. Bye.”
