“Because I love Saint,” Harmony replied casually. “I love him with a healthy, selfless love. One that requires I do what’s best for him, and we both know, that’s ridding him of you completely.” Tristan muttered under her breath with a shake of her head. “If you have any true love for him, do the right thing, Tristan, and get rich in the process. Release him from those contracts.”

Tristan considered her words carefully. “Once I confirm this is real, I’ll think about it.”

Harmony’s head shook. “No. We can confirm they are real right now, but I need your answer before I leave here today. If you agree, you’ll need to come to Memphis and drive back with the books. They can’t be handled by anyone but you, and you’ll need to not only sign a contract with me agreeing to these terms but also reach out to every company you are contracted with on Saint’s behalf to reverse the rights to him.”

Tristan stood and walked over to the windows. As she stared out of one, she said, “I really did love him… maybe too much. So much that I never wanted to let him go. Somewhere down the line that love mixed with hate, and I wanted to do everything I could to make him suffer because he didn’t love me.” She released a shaky breath. “It’s been so draining dealing with bitterness over losing him, but I haven’t had the courage to do the right thing and let him go.”

“And now?” Harmony asked, afraid to allow herself to feel hope.

“Is he… truly happy with you?”

“Yes,” Harmony replied with no hesitation. “And I’ve never been happier than I am right now because of him. This situation is like a dark cloud hovering over him. Let him go, fully, so he can live the life you know he deserves, Tristan.”

“He’s worth this to you?”

Harmony smiled as she thought over her bond with Saint. “He’s worth this, and so much more.”

Though Harmony didn’t see the tears when they fell, she saw when Tristan wiped them away.

“Okay, you have a deal…”

ChapterThirty-Two

Saint

As Saint lookedover the décor in the library, he felt a warmth spread through him that was foreign. It was the night before Valentine’s Day, and Kahlil and Honey were set to be married the next day. Though the wedding planner had confirmed that everything was good to go, Harmony still wanted to stop by the library herself to make sure everything was perfect. It seemed fitting for Kahlil and Honey to get married at the library, and Saint couldn’t help but wonder if he and Harmony would share the same fate one day.

It was crazy how when he first came back to Memphis, Saint was determined to not have anything to do with women, let alone love and marriage again. Meeting Harmony changed all of that. Reducing what they felt to lust at first sight was a disservice to the bond they shared. Saint had fallen in love with her the moment he laid eyes on her, and he’d been thanking God for the second chance he had to get life and marriage right with Harmony ever since.

Harmony had been there for him throughout two of the biggest losses of his life, and Saint was determined to make sure his happily ever after with her was the ultimate win.

Things were going well with the arts community center. He’d finally found the perfect patch of land to build on. They’d decided to do the consulting firm online, and it was two months away from launching. His vodka and whisky had been picked up by several businesses and stores. The only thing that would have made life better professionally for Saint was getting his rights back to his music. He was in the process of putting a group together, but that was taking longer than he thought it would. There was a lot riding on his return, and Saint wanted it to be perfect.

For Harmony, things were going just as well. Because she didn’t have to work at the library daily, she was able to devote more time to her writing. She’d recently completed the first draft of her next novel and had sent it to her editing team. The more she was able to focus on her dream, the happier and more content Harmony was with her reality.

Though they were still living in separate homes, Saint planned to talk to Harmony about buying her out of her lease so she could move in with him after the wedding. He planned to fly her to Paris for Valentine’s Day, and he couldn’t wait to see her face in the morning when he told her. As much as Saint wanted to take his time and go day by day, he couldn’t deny that he was in love with Harmony. After having spent so many years with the wrong person, Saint deemed it foolish to waste time not having the right one in every way possible.

He didn’t just want Harmony to live with him—he wanted to marry her and give her three or four babies too—but that would happen in due time. At that point, he was trying not to think about the baby he had with Tristan. It seemed a little unhealthy not to reveal and heal that trauma, but he’d do it with time. It took too much out of him to grieve the loss—healing would come later. Right now, Saint just wanted to bask in Harmony and the things and people he had… he loved. The first step was them moving in together and making sure she knew things wouldn’t take a turn for the worst as they did with Keith.

“You ready to go, bae?” Saint asked, ready to go home and do absolutely nothing with the woman he loved.

“One second,” she called from her office. When she came out, her eyes widened as if it was her first time seeing what had been done. “God, this is so freaking beautiful.”

“Yeah,” Saint mumbled in agreement, looking the white and gold décor over again. The aisles had ribbon and flowers hanging from each set of shelves. Chairs were in the center of the library. A white carpet that was already covered in rose petals led to a large white and gold gazebo that the couple would stand underneath. “You want this any time soon?” he asked as Harmony made her way to his side.

“Yes, but I can wait. I love what we have, just the way it is.”

When he looked down at her, Harmony lifted herself and placed a kiss to his lips.

“I got something for you,” she said as she pulled away.

Harmony handed him the papers, then pulled her hands behind her back as she rocked on her heels with a huge grin. Saint chuckled as he looked the papers over.

“What’s this?” he asked, too anxious because of her excitement to wait until he read it over.

The more he looked the first document over, the more his heart raced. Head tilted, Saint’s lips parted. He stared in disbelief.

“Harmony… What did you do?” Saint asked, hands trembling as he held the papers.
