Felix rolls around on the bed like he’s trying to imprint himself into my mattress.

“What is he doing?” I ask.

“He’s surrounding himself in your scent while also marking his territory.”

Why do I like that?

The door swings open, Blaze and Aksel stomping through.

“Why didn’t anyone lock the door?” Blaze asks.

Aksel is staring at the snow leopard on my bed. “Why is Felix shifted?”

“So many questions for people who just barged into my home,” I tease, but neither of them plays along.

“Griffyn?” Aksel’s voice is demanding.

Griffyn sighs. “Felix wanted to show off in front of his mate, and now his snow leopard is marking its territory.”

I elbow him in the stomach. “He isn’t marking his territory! He’s just playing around.”

They all look at me like I’m dense, including the animal.

“Change back, Felix,” Aksel demands.

The feline hops off my bed, leisurely making its way to me. He rubs up against me, circling my legs before walking back to where Felix left his clothes.

I look away to give him privacy, but I already know I’ll be sneaking a peak at how the change happens when there aren’t so many eyes around.

Griffyn is back to his spot on the couch. “You get everything?”

Blaze nods, dropping one of the bags off at Griffyn’s feet.

“Thank you.”

Griffyn was right, they don’t have that much stuff, but it still makes the place even more crowded. When Aksel trips over a pair of shoes on his way to the kitchen, I think he might lose his mind. At least it’s a pair of men’s shoes, and he can’t blame me. Although, I’m sure he’s still finding a way to.

I go to Blaze.

“Blaze, what kind of shifter are you?”

He just stares at me before answering, “Dragon.”

I didn’t realize they existed. So shifters can be an animal that doesn’t exist naturally? I need to ask Aly and probably Jay more questions about shifters. I don’t want to seem like an idiot in front of these guys.

That explains how big he is. He’s a hulking monster, so it makes sense his creature is huge.

“Can I see your dragon one day?”

His eyes widen slightly before the corners of his mouth lift the tiniest bit. He just nods before looking away.

I’m excited to see his beast. I’ve only seen a dragon on TV, and I know it’s going to be ten times better in real life.

I move closer to Blaze.

“Does your dragon look like they do on TV?” I ask.

He looks at me, blinking before nodding yes.
