The plan is basic. We stay in pairs, and no one goes off on their own. One pair will be with Blaze at all times. Apparently, Blaze has experience fighting, so he’s going to enter the ring.

I was shocked Blaze insisted I would be staying with him. He was tenacious, so Griffyn and I are to watch Blaze’s back while he fights.

I throw on my smooth leather pants. They’re both sexy and intimidating, perfect for what we’re doing. I pair them with a black halter top and platforms I can easily move in.

I typically refuse to wear something without a lift, but I can admit heels aren’t the best idea this time.

I exit the bathroom to see the guys have gotten similarly dressed. Jeans and black t-shirts. Griffyn has a leather jacket on, too, even though it’s summer.

They all look sexy as hell.

They realize I’m standing there, but no one calls me out for ogling them all. Felix lets out a long whistle.

“Damn.” Griffyn isn’t shy, looking me over from top to bottom. “You’re going to cause trouble tonight, Vixen.”

Blaze doesn’t say anything, but he’s also staring at me like he’s never seen a woman before.

Aksel doesn’t comment, swinging around and heading to the door. “Let’s go.”

Apparently, they have transporters in all the major cities to get you there. You have to go through them to ensure only approved people get in. It’s very top secret, hush-hush. No wonder we are looking for a criminal there.

It’s not a far drive to the closest city.

“And we will be approved?” I double-check.

All eyes fall on Blaze, who answers, “Yes.”

Is he the reason we’re allowed in? They said he has fighting experience. Is it in places like this?

Before we get out of the car, Aksel pulls out a box from under the passenger seat.

“Here. They’re comms, communication devices. Everyone stay in touch.”

It’s a little piece of plastic that slides easily into my ear.

The transporter is waiting for us in a back alley. Blaze and Aksel lead the way over to him. He’s just some small guy dressed in a black hoodie, nothing obvious.

He gives Blaze a respectful nod. “Killer. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen you. Is this your crew?”

Blaze nods stiffly.

The ground disappears under my feet as we are transported to a warehouse. I have no idea where it is. We’re dropped in a deserted area, and the guy is gone again before I even get my feet under me. The floor and walls are concrete and super dirty.

“Let’s do this.” Aksel stalks off towards the only door in the whole room, I’m assuming the entrance.

Felix grabs my hand, giving it a squeeze before following him.

Blaze leads our group into the thrall of people. The rowdy crowd screams and cheers as everyone surrounds a fighting ring in the center. Money is passing hands as people bet on the winners.

The bigger guy in the ring throws a punch that makes blood spray across the crowd. The cheers increase.

We split up immediately.

Griffyn presses his palm against my back to keep me on the right path through the room. I got distracted, taking everything in around me. I’ve never been somewhere like this.

I love it. The energy and blood lust is infectious. It makes me want to drop my fangs and take a bite out of someone.

Blaze doesn’t make a show of taking in his surroundings, just walking through the crowd toward the center.
