It’s gorgeous and like he’s hypnotizing me.

“Do you feel that?” Aksel asks, breaking me out of Griffyn’s spell.

“Like I want to fight or fuck? Yeah, I feel it,” Griffyn’s voice is strained as he maintains eye contact with me.

Every inch of my front is pressed tightly against his.

“That has to be your powers losing control thanks to whatever is going on. Keep it together, Griffyn!” Aksel yells.

Neither of us moves apart. I’m soaking wet and aching for release.

“My mate,” Felix growls.

I startle a little at the reminder that I have a mate, and it’s not who I’m making bedroom eyes at. But then again, this is a polyandrous culture, and I haven’t made any commitments to Felix.

I look around. It’s madness everywhere as more and more people join the fighting. Blaze tackles his opponent in the ring, pulverizing his face with punch after punch. It looks like he’s being affected too.

Griffyn grabs my arm, tugging me behind him. He takes us away from the fighting, but it’s like a disease spreading through the whole crowd.

People are shifting, and powers are being used everywhere.

“Updates. Now,” Aksel demands through the comm.

“There’s fighting by us. We are taking cover now for protection and to remain under the radar,” Griffyn answers, pulling me into a supply closet off the main room.

Seems like they would lock that, but I guess they don’t care about cleaning supplies. The scent of bleach assaults my senses immediately.

“Blaze?” Aksel asks.

As Griffyn tries to shut the door behind us, I’m pushed into his body to make room. There’s barely any space in here.

He gets the door shut, trapping us in the dark.

“He’s being affected too. He’s still destroying his opponent,” Griffyn says.

I can’t help breathing heavier at our proximity. Every line of his body is pressed against mine.

His hands tighten where they are gripping my hips. I try to shift on my feet, but it only rubs me against him further.

“Quit moving, Vixen.” His voice is strained.

It feels like I might die if I don’t get some relief. I can’t help the moan that slips out.

“This happened when the guy came in. It’s either him or from the hall he came from. Let’s find the source,” Aksel’s voice is background noise at this point.

All I can think about are his perfect lips and what they would feel like pressed against mine.

His hand slides up, brushing against me in the tight space, and cups my jaw.

“I can taste your arousal, and it’s like the most perfect drug,” He tells me.

I lean into his hand.

“Then do something about it.”

He groans like I’m killing him, squeezing my jaw in his hand. “I hate myself and that I have to say this, but I don’t think it’s all natural. I’m causing this, and I can’t take advantage of you this way.”

His rejection stings, making my stomach plummet.
