It was Savvie who kept lunging for my dick. I was just responding as any hot-blooded male would do around a beautiful girl. But she was fragile, too, and this bond we’d formed was deepening by the day.

Declan gave me one of his “I’m here for you, mate” nods. I was sure he knew. Savanah opened up to her brothers about most things.

“We’ve been discussing Bramwell Pike. After spending most of the morning begging Savanah to go through with the charges, she won’t budge. She’s talking about a restraining order instead. Has she said anything to you?”

I took a deep breath. “She mentioned it, and of course, I tried to talk her out of it.”

Caroline returned a faint, but grateful smile. “That’s why I asked you here: to convince her to press charges. I fear what he might do. And there are those dreadful sex tapes.”

“You’ve seen it?” My forehead hurt from frowning. I hated what it might mean for Savvie to know that her mother had watched that sickening footage.

“No.” She tapped her fingernails together.

“A friend of mine saw it,” Ethan said. “He destroyed it. But we’re thinking that there might be more out there. At least if Bram’s put away, he can’t keep rubbing our sister’s reputation in the mud.”

“But didn’t you threaten to sue?” I asked.

Caroline nodded. “That’s in place. But that tape was sent around before we even knew it existed.” She sat forward. “Can you turn her around? I’m aware of how important you are to her.”

I chewed on my cheek. She must have known about us. It wasn’t easy sneaking around small places like Bridesmere. “I’ll do my best.”

She looked over at her sons before returning her focus to me. “I need you to do some more surveillance at Ma Chérie.”

“Like last time?”

She nodded. “This whisper of underage girls is not going away and is extremely concerning.” Her expressionless gaze held mine.

“Maybe you should send someone inside,” I said.

“It’s by invite only.” Her eyebrow arch spelt exactly what that meant—a brothel for men buying virgins.

I took a deep breath. “Okay. I’ll head out late tonight.”

“And if you can try to talk to Savanah about pressing charges.”

“She’s just terrified of the media turning the trial into a circus.”

“That is a problem. I’ll have another word with Lord Pike. I can’t imagine he wants to see his reputation in tatters.”

“Perhaps he can send Bram to LA or somewhere far away,” Declan suggested.

She nodded slowly. “That’s an idea.”

I headed back to Reboot with a heavy feeling in my gut.

Chapter 25

Savanah

SiennaandItookour seats just as the auction began. Elysium needed more art, and in my newly appointed role as buyer, I was there to bid for a collection listed in their latest catalogue.

When my mother gave my selection her nod of approval, I sensed her relief at my finding a focus. It was amazing what love did for one’s motivation, and thanks to Carson, I’d finally found some inspiration. Being in charge of art acquisition fitted me as well as a pair of Manolo must-have shoes.

Sienna, who I hadn’t seen for a while, met up with me for breakfast, and I invited her along to the crowded auction.

When a tall man in a designer suit strutted by, Sienna leaned in and whispered, “He’s hot.”

“We’re here to buy art. Not pick up rich daddies. And try not to make a noise when the bidding starts.”
