"That was the deal, wasn't it?" he whispers against my neck. "I said I'd take care of your every need."

I needed a roof and food, sure, but this credit card goes way above that. "I don't need anything you aren't already providing."

"We simply don't have the same definition of needs. Mine include a degree of comfort and entertainment." Camden smiles against my skin. "Take it, princess. I'm not asking for anything you haven't already agreed to in exchange."

It's still far, far too much. "So what if I go and blow the whole thing on a shopping spree?" I push.

"Have fun. It'll get paid automatically every month, but if you max it out, let me know and I'll top it up. Don't bother to get yourself a car, though. You have one on the way."

"A car?" I practically yell. "Camden!"

"Morgan," he echoes.

I shake my head in disbelief, at loss for words.

"You can't keep throwing money at me like this."

"Why?"

"It makes me uncomfortable,” I hiss between my teeth.

"Why?" he asks again, always pushing me toward truths I'm not ready to face.

Why does it make me any more uncomfortable? We already have a deal anyway. Why should I care that he's giving me more than I anticipated, so long as I only have my side of the bargain to worry about?

I bite down my lip, trying to find a reason. Thankfully, our professor walks in, sparing me an unnerving introspection.

Camden slides his hand over my jeans to my thigh and keeps it right there during the entire lecture, using his left hand to take notes. I would have sworn I've seen him write with his right hand before. He's ambidextrous?

I add it to the long list of things I never knew about this man. One of them being that he's more insane than I thought. What the hell could possess him to think he should give me that much?

I struggle to follow the lecture, my mind too full of Camden. When Professor Lake calls it a day, I'm relieved, despite usually liking the class.

"Morgan, right?" the girl seated next to Rhys asks. "I'm Olivia."

"Maxwell," says the guy on the next row—a football player I've seen around them.

He offers me his hand and I shake it.

All of a sudden, everyone introduces themselves at once, except Kim, who looks like she's sucking on a lemon.

"Er, hi?" I'm uncertain in this crowd. "Yeah, I'm Morgan."

"Awesome. See you at lunch?"

I'm at a loss, a refusal ready on my lips, though I can't really decide why my instinct is to say no. They seem nice enough. The issue is that they're Camden's friends, not mine.

Camden throws me a bone. "Back off a little before she runs away, guys," he says with a grin. "She's shy."

Rhys hides a laugh behind a cough. When I glance his way, he winks. He knows just howshyI can be after Friday. As in, not at all. At least not when I'm naked and desperate to come.

After the events of last Friday, I spent the entire weekend flushed and frustrated, the only thing stronger than my shame being my arousal.

"You're welcome at lunch if you want to join us," Camden tells me, before kissing the corner of my mouth, close to my cheek.

He leaves, and his friends take their cue from him.

As I watch them exit theamphitheater, I'm left with too many questions, one of them beingwhat was that?
