An address would be fantastic, but at this point I'd even take a general neighbourhood. I'm going to need more manpower, but it won't be hard to get. I have a few favours I can call in to help me canvas once we've narrowed it down.

The next minute on the phone is tense.

There's no talking.

Just the sound of Vance's keyboard.

I'm clenching my teeth so hard it's a wonder they haven't cracked.

"Do you need us there?" Ezra breaks the silence.

It's a tricky question.

Would I prefer it if they were here with me? Of course. I trust them both more than anybody else in the world. I knew if they were here to begin with and I left Alize in their company for a few minutes, this wouldn't have happened.

But this is my battle to fight.

My dragon to slay.

"It would take you guys a day's worth of travel just to get here," I say. "It won't take me that long to find her." My words sound empty even to my own ears, but I cleave to them nonetheless.

I'm not allowing myself to think of the alternative.

I can't afford for my emotions to spiral out of control.

Alize is alive.

She's waiting for me to rescue her.

And I will.

"Bingo." Vance's keyboard strokes stop.

"Tell us," Ezra says.

My phone buzzes and a notification pops up with a text from Vance.

"He owns a shit load of property in England, but I was able to narrow things down. I focused on residential over commercial, and properties with covered or off-street parking, since I'm certain he doesn't want to be seen carting an unconscious woman inside his house." Sometimes, I forget how intelligent Vance truly is. "I ended up with eight addresses. I just sent them to you."

My fingers are shaking when I open his text and download the attachment.

I skim them. All of them are familiar, and all of them are in Empire territory.

The closest one is fifteen minutes away.

I'll start there.

"I owe you," I say, already moving to the door. "Thanks, man."

"Keep us in the loop," Ezra says. "And when you find her, take her to the hospital immediately. I know you know, but I'm still telling you. You guys can catch up after she's been checked out."

I roll my eyes. "Yes, I know."

Vance chuckles on the other end. "Make the fucker pay."

Oh, I will.

The call ends, and I push the door open.
