“There’s only one place that would feel right baby.”
She nodded seeing the look on his face and six weeks later, she was standing in the vestibule waiting for the doors to open. This time when they did, she saw Leo smiling at her and her fears washed away.
“Ready?” he asked taking in her dress.
“Never been more ready in my life,” she admitted with a smile.
“Well then let’s get your veil on,” Emma said coming over to her with it while Toni, Celia and Lisa got their bouquets and hers. “You look gorgeous.”
“Thought you’d never wear that dress again Stacey,” Toni grinned at her.
“It’s not the same one, just similar.”
“Yeah?”
“Oh yeah, it cost way more than three thousand bucks,” she teased as the doors opened again. She glanced up wondering who it could possibly be and then stood rooted to her spot seeing the group. “What?”
“Sorry we’re late,” Lucca said moving around them. “Ah sweetie you look amazing.”
“Lucca, what are they doing here?”
“You needed answers still. Jake and I agreed on it so I went to get them. Just give him five minutes Stace, I promise you won’t regret it,” he said kissing her cheek.
“Stacey,” Noah said moving towards her.
“Honey what’s going on?” Emma asked stepping up behind her. She got a better look at the group and gasped, “Oh…”
“You look so beautiful,” Noah stated reaching her.
“I don’t think this is the place to do this,” she said but Lucca stopped her.
“Stace five minutes and if you still feel that way I’ll have them leave okay,” he said squeezing her hand.
“Five minutes,” she agreed moving to the dressing room wondering what on earth he was going to say.
Chapter 14
“Man, relax she’s here,” Miles said laughing at Jake as he pulled nervously at the collar of his tux.
“So was I, doesn’t mean she’ll stay,” he stated wishing he’d taken her down to city hall where he could make sure she didn’t run.
“We thought you were so confident in your ability to get her to marry you,” Gary said lifting an eyebrow at him.
“That was when I thought I was going to take her to Vegas or city hall not waiting here so she could dump me the way I did her.”
“You might deserve that, but Stacey wouldn’t do it,” Miles told him. “Just give it a few more minutes; maybe one of the girls had a hair meltdown.”
“I hope…so,” he said pausing as the doors opened and he saw Lucca walk in with a group of people.
“Who are they?” Miles asked seeing the girls.
“Who do you think?” he stated as Lucca nodded at him.
“Holy shit, you had him bring her family here?”
“I had Lucca go find him, to get answers for Cee. This must mean something good or else he never would have brought them here,” he said as the doors opened again and his father walked towards him. “Or not, Dad…”
“They’re ready,” he said taking a seat next to Rebecca. “Relax Jake, everything’s fine.”
