I was pissed and this bar bunny was going to meet my wrath.

“What’d you say bitch?”

Not even giving her a chance to reply, I swung the bottle and it connected with her face. She fell to the ground whining like the bitch she was. Her big ass head had cracked the bottle.

“Stay down there on your knees where you belong,” I tossed the bottle aside.

“Y’all need to get the fuck outta my bar!” A voice roared and I turned to find a guy in flannel with a shot gun.

Mason came over then, a shocked look on his face as he looked at the girl on the floor. His lips then curved into a grin. “Gangsta Nora!”

I groaned.

This was lunacy. I’d just hit a woman with a bottle.

“I mean it!” The guy roared, motioning to us with the shot gun.

“Fuck you buddy! This place sucks,” I roared and turned to leave, pulling Mason along behind me.

The moment the cool night air touched my face, I started laughing. Mason lit up a cigarette and then I took it from him. The menthol filled my throat and I started to cough before handing it back to him.

“Easy killer,” he replied taking the cig, the cherry flaring to life when he pulled on it.

“Not quite,” I shook my head.

“What’d that lady say to deserve getting knocked in the head by you?” Mason was loving this shit, he wouldn’t stop grinning but he winced in pain.

I took in his face for the first time since exiting and under the lights of the seedy bar, I noticed he was looking a little puffy in the eye area.

“Nothing too important,” my fingers touched the portion of his way to cute face.

He winced again.

“You need ice,” I told him.

“I’ll be fine,” he took one last drag on the cigarette.

He flicked it away and it dropped to the ground.

“Let’s get out of here before that bar owner comes looking,” Mason placed the helmet on my head, securing it.

His thumb roamed over my bottom lip, lingering for just a moment. My heart seemed to clench at his touch.

How could I have ever suggested that we be friends? I’d just went way out of my comfort zone and slammed a glass bottle into a woman’s head over this man.

Mason and hispierced pressurehad fucked my world up. I almost didn’t know who I was. A version of myself from three months ago would have never ever tried to fight some woman in a bar.

I was for sure teeter tottering into a different version of myself. I held onto Mason for dear life, the smell of cedar emanating from his body, and enjoying his warmth.

All mine,I thought as lights whipped past.

ChapterNineteen

Mason

He was taunting me now.

There hadn’t been any more dead bodies but this psychotic motherfucker had definitely been nearby and taunting me. Toying with me…
