“Yeah,” Mack said, “so they suggested she ask a friend to donate.”

“What did you say?” Titus asks him.

Mack shrugs. “I said I’d discuss it with Sidnie. We chatted about it last night, and she’s okay about it, so I’ll probably say yes. You?”

“Yeah, I said why not?”

“How’s she going to choose which of you to use?” Victoria asks.

“She’s talking about letting the clinic decide,” Titus says. He picks up a sandwich, realizes it’s vegetarian, and puts it back with a grimace before choosing a roast beef one. “So she won’t actually know which of us will father the baby. She said she likes the idea of it being random.”

I’ve gone completely cold inside. She actually asked them? I’m shocked by how hurt I feel. It’s my own fault for saying no to doing it in a cup for her. Fuck. I love the two guys here but the thought of them fathering Elizabeth’s baby makes me want to attack them with a chainsaw.

“I’m donating on Monday,” Mack says. “She says if we can all give samples over the next week or so, she’ll be inseminated the week after, and…” His voice trails off, and his brows draw together as he looks at me. “Aw,” he says, “I can’t do it, guys. Look at his face.”

Titus and Victoria glance at me and start laughing, and Mack grins.

“Jesus.” I tip my head back and look at the ceiling for a moment before throwing them all a glare. “You actually had me for a moment.”

“Don’t blame us,” Titus says. “It was Elizabeth’s idea.”

“That little… She put you up to this?”

“She said she wanted to mess with you,” Victoria says. “Something to do with being thrown in the pool?”

“Ah. Yeah. Okay, fair enough.”

Mack chuckles. “I can’t believe you did that and survived.”

“Eh,” I say, “she was only mad for a few minutes.”

“So.” Mack smiles. “She really has asked you to donate?”

“Yeah. I said no.”

They all look surprised. “Seriously?” Titus says.

I give them a mischievous look. “I told her I want to do it the old-fashioned way.”

They all stare at me. Then, as one, they all start laughing.

“Hand it over,” Mack says to Titus and Victoria.

Titus rolls his eyes. “Jesus, seriously? After all this time?”

Mack just flicks his fingers up.

I frown. “What’s going on?”

Titus and Victoria both fish ten bucks out of their pockets. “Mack bet us ten bucks at university that the two of you would end up in bed together,” Titus says, handing his note over.

“Well, you should keep your money for now,” I say. “We’re not there yet. She said no.”

Victoria and Titus take their notes out of Mack’s hand, and he glares at them as he says, “What do you mean?”

“She said there was as much likelihood of her sleeping with me as of me jumping off the Sky Tower. So we made a bet. I’m going up there tomorrow. If I don’t jump, I’ll donate for her. If I do… she gives me one night.” I smile.

They all stare at me.
