“This traditional, I like.” I gently brushed my lips against his, my body still hungry for more of him. “Did you really have to promise to celebrate at O’Reilly’s just now?”

“You don’t want to celebrate with Savage and Waverly?” he asked in surprise.

“I wanted to celebrate with you first. Naked.”

“Oh, you did.” He gripped my hips and hauled me toward him.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and pressed against him, rubbing ever so slightly. “Someone wants a family… We better get busy.”

He cradled my cheeks and stared into my eyes. “I can wait. If you’re not ready, I’ll wait, just say the word and we’ll wait.”

I bit my lip. “I’m not sure I’ll ever be ready, Duke. So, I think it’s one of those things where you just have to decide what kind of life you want. And I want you happy. I wantushappy.” I peppered his jaw with kisses. “I’ll go off birth control. And we’ll see what happens.”

Duke parked his motorcycle under a cluster of trees and we headed into O’Reilly’s, hand in hand. Waverly chucked a fry at Savage’s head and he rescinded in kind.

“Looks about right,” I said with a grin at Duke.

Savage climbed out of the booth, shoved Duke away from me, and embraced me hard. “Happy for you guys. So fucking happy,” he whispered.

I squeezed him and pulled back so I could look at him. “You mean it?”

“Never meant anything more,” he assured me.

“My turn,” Waverly said, elbowing Savage out of the way. She launched herself at me. “I want to hear about your proposal!”

“Why?” I laughed. “I heard you were in on the whole deal.”

She grinned at me. “Yep, but I still want you to tell me all the things.” She grabbed my hand and stared at the ring. “Wow, the jewelry coming out of Cracker Jack boxes these days is next level.”

“Didn’t you approve this ring?” I demanded, tweaking her nose.

“Yeah, I did. It looks beautiful on you.”

Savage and Duke were speaking a few feet away and then Savage slapped Duke on the back.

“I’m starving,” I said.

“You can have some of my fries, but they’re cold,” Waverly said.

“They were my fries, punk,” Savage said, coming over to Waverly and wrapping his arm around her neck. “I shared them with you.”

“Fries for breakfast,” I said. “That’s healthy.”

“We eat hashbrowns in the morning, why not fries?” Waverly asked.

“Valid,” I admitted. “Oddly valid.”

“Is it too early for a celebratory Guinness?” Savage wondered.

“Nope,” Duke said. “I’m getting one. You want one?”

I shook my head. “Just a Doctor Brown’s soda.”

“Soda for breakfast, Willa? For shame,” Waverly tsked.

Savage ruffled Waverly’s hair and then released her. “Let’s go order the drinks.”

“What do you want to eat?” Duke asked me.
