He’s so gorgeous!

The tailored suit molded to his body and accentuated his muscular frame.

Even as tall as I knew him to be, he looked bigger than before.

Oh, he has gone back to his long daily workout. Be still, my heart! He is so handsome!

I felt my heart skip a beat. Was I hallucinating, or was it really Trev really standing there?

As I came down the last steps, he turned to look at me and smiled. I instantly felt butterflies in my stomach. I was holding my breath.

Get a hold of yourself; don't let him off the hook that easily.

“Trev!”

"Hey." His voice was far better than I remembered it to be. I could feel my heart melting.

"Don't ‘hey’ me! How dare you waltz back in here and act as if nothing happened?!" I yelled without even realizing I was shouting.

His smile disappeared, but he didn’t budge.

Chapter 27

Trev

Seeingheragainwasmore emotional than I anticipated. I was sure I could face her, but my confidence failed me.

She could yell all she wanted, and I would never leave her again!

I knew I missed her, but I had no idea how much till just now.

She wore her usual oversized jersey top and a pair of loose jean shorts that didn't hide her gorgeous figure. Her naked thighs tempted. I could tell she wasn't wearing a bra.

Even as she frowned at me, she still was beautiful, her round face making her frown cuter and more adorable than menacing. I wanted to kiss her so badly, feel her on me.

Down boy. Groveling time.

When she shouted at me, I just gave it up. I raced to her and wrapped her up in my arms.

"I’m sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry.”

I felt her start to sob.

“I know I should never have left the way I did. Eric called and presented me with an emergency. But I should have called later. I’ve missed you. I have felt so guilty about the way I left, that from one day to the next I couldn't bring myself to pick up the phone," I said apologetically. I pulled her into me, legs and lips molded into each other.

"At that point, you were not speaking to me. I assumed you didn't want to see me, either. But that was no excuse for not acting like a gentleman and a good guest at your lodge."

Lindsey's face softened as she heard my apology. Her tears continued to run down her gorgeous, round, angelic face. I could tell she had missed me. too, but she surely wasn't going to make it so easy for me.

"A lot was happening at that time, and I didn't know how to deal with it all properly," I said.

"Like Lauren being pregnant with your child?" she asked.

I was shocked to my bones to know that she was aware of that. Then it dawned on me that she had been eavesdropping on my conversation with Lauren.

"Yeah, I heard," she said sadly. "I followed you to yell at you for insulting me. For assuming I'd let any stranger into any guest room, or any part of my lodge, for that matter—but you had already gone inside before I caught up with you." She paused. "I wanted to leave, but curiosity got the best of me. I heard everything …" she shook her head, "Well not everything per se. I left as soon as I heard she was carrying your child."

Ah-Hah! Now things are clearer!
