“Did you think I was asking you something else?” Jason hesitated. “You’re going to make me kneel here for a long time, aren’t you?”

Elena laughed. She launched herself at Jason, knocking him over. They ended up in the grass, Jason rolled on top of her.

“That wasn’t an answer,” he laughed. “You’re supposed to say yes.”

“I thought it was.” Elena cupped his face in her hands. “It was always going to be a yes. But on one condition.”

“What’s the condition?”

“We don’t have a big wedding. I’m content with just going to the courthouse to sign the papers.”

Jason chuckled in disbelief. “I have all the money you could want, and you want to have no fuss at all?”

“We do have six kids. Can you imagine having a wedding with that many toddlers running around?”

“Fair point. We can make it fun for them as well.”

“We can discuss it later.” Elena kissed him. “Much later. Once we’ve put the kids to bed and we’re sure we won’t be interrupted. That hasn’t happened for a while, and I have a feeling we’re going to have a lot of time to ourselves tonight.”

Jason grinned, rolling over so Elena was on top of him. “Now that sounds like a very good idea.”

Elena was aware that people could probably see them, even though they were on the other field. But with Jason kissing her, she didn’t really care.
