I glance at Basil as I move my head to the side. “Actually, the weather here is like summer days in Greece but the weather is not what I’m calling you about.”

From the directness of my tone, Balthazar switches into Boss mode. “What’s going on?”

I commence to tell him everything that has been going on with Deanna. When I finish, it’s Alistair who speaks first.

“Did you say the asshole’s last name was Hollis?”

“I did. Conrad Hollis” I reply, wondering where he’s going with his questioning.

On the other end of call, Alistair says to Balthazar, “Zar, do you remember when we were in Chicago, and I had to put District Attorney Hollis’ snot nosed son in his place for coming on to Hailey at Giordano’s? I wonder if this asshole is related to them.”

“Do you know what he looks like, Yiorgos?” Balthazar asks.

“Not at the moment, but I’m hoping you can pass along this information to Tech, so he can do his magic.”

“I’ll give it to him. I think he stayed behind while a few of Mike’s men, went to set up some home security services.”

I chuckle, knowing Mike’s men were doing something other than installing security systems. Mike could hide behind his company but I for one know it’s all a front. Sitting back in my chair, I say, “Thanks, I appreciate that.”

“Yiorgos,” Alistair calls. “How did you get Hollis’ name?”

I begin to tell them about Malichi.

“I’m surprised you let him live, but I understand. If Malichi worked for Hollis, why hasn’t he told you where to find him? Or given you his phone number for it to be traced?” Balthazar questioned.

“Malichi said Hollis always met with them at different locations around the city, never at the same spot. As for his phone number, Basil tried to trace it but didn’t come up with anything. I think he may be using a burner phone.” I reply.

Balthazar sighs, “That makes since. You said Malichi was half Greek. What’s his last name?”

“Galanis,” I tell him.

“Shit,” he exhales. “I don’t know many with that last name but if it’s his, his father was Christos Galanis. The man I executed for trying to get the other Captains to go against my grandfather.”

What a fucking small world after all, I think to myself. No wonder Malichi had so much respect for the Kourakos name. His biological father was a Captain who turned his back on Malichi. And even with him doing so, Malichi never denied his heritage. I feel good for not taking his life but at the same time, I can’t help but wonder how he’s going to receive the news.

“Well, I’m going to have to let him know about this new revelation,” I state.

“Be careful, cousin. You never know how someone will react learning something like this,” Balthazar warns.

I nod even though he can’t see me. “You’re right but from what Malichi told me, Galanis never acknowledged him. I’m sure knowing this won’t sway his opinion about the man.”

“I hope you’re right. I’ll get the information over to Tech and will be in touch once he contacts me.” Baltazar pauses before adding, “Do you need us to come up there and assist you with this?”

Feeling a little slighted by his question, I reply, “Believe me cousin we have it all under control.”

His laughter fills the speaker. “Alright then cousin, we’ll leave it at that but maybe Alistair, Xander and I will show up unannounced like you did here in Dallas.”

The two have a chuckle fest and as I’m about to respond, the call goes dead. I swear I love my cousin but sometimes he makes me realize why we kept our distance for so long.

“Isn’t that some crazy shit?” Basil asks, sitting on the other side of my desk, in front of me.

Lacing my fingers together, then forming a steeple under my chin, I reply, “It is. Galanis was an idiot to think he could overthrow Uncle Sebastian.”

“Exactly. If anyone thinks they can take down the Kourakos name, they are in for a rude fucking awaking.”

“And that shit won’t happen in this lifetime,” I boldly counter with a wicked smile.

Two hours later, after Basil and I have gone through the reports, my secretary’s voice comes through on the intercom.
