After making sure the security alarm was set and the doors of the bookstore was secure, we left, heading to Winnetka. On the drive, I promised myself if Dutch inflicted any pain on Deanna, I was going to make him endure triple. For his own good, he better not have touched my woman as Malichi was enroute to meet us at the house.

When we reached the house, I didn’t wait for my men to open my door as I jumped out and ran up the stairs with Basil and Tahir on my heels. Tapping in the code to gain entrance, the front door unlocked. I opened it and went straight to Yiannis’ weapons room. Throwing my suit jacket to the side, I changed into my bulletproof suit, then my tactical gear.

Basil must have been thinking the same way because when he stepped out, his attire was the same as mine. Tahir’s dressed like us, ready to go to battle. The way we are armed, we’re going to give Dutch and his men one hell of a fight.

We give each other a mutual nod of understanding as we leave the room. My steps falter when I see my father, Uncle Sebastian and Yiannis standing in the foyer with Balthazar, Alistair, Xander, Mike, Tech, Blade, and Uncle Sebastian’s bodyguard Jeeves.

“Yiorgos, we were going to surprise you this weekend, but with this new development...” Balthazar says, then pauses.

Honestly, I’m not mad at him. I didn’t want to tell my father what was going on, but I knew he would eventually find out about it. To have him here with the rest of my family only proves that that we are one.

I reach out to my father, hugging him close to me, whispering, “Εσ? ε?σαι εδ?. (You’re here).”

Father grasps my arms, chuckling, “Yes, I am.”

“Where’s Mother?” Basil asks as I move to side so he can hug Father.

“She’s in Dallas with Selene and the ladies. We flew there first so we could see the baby and I could spend some time with Sebastian,” Father states. “It’s a good thing we came early.”

“I’m glad you did too but I’m surprised Selene is not here with you,” I tell him. Knowing Selene, she’s probably pissed she didn’t come. She always ready to pull her trigger.

Father laughs. “Oh, she wanted to come but GeeGee made her rethink her options.”

We all laugh. One thing about GeeGee her word was law and if you even think about debating it with her, you weren’t going to win.

Peering at my family who came to be by my side, I say, “Thank all of you for coming. Especially Balthazar and Xander. Balthazar you left your wife and new baby to be here, and I am forever grateful and Xander, I promise to have you back with Sabre before the baby comes.”

Balthazar closes the small distance between us. “I am simply happy you had Basil call us. The men you see standing before you are your family and will always be here for you. Now, let’s go get ladies.”

A crazed grin appears on my face because after tonight, Chicago will never be the same.

Chapter 16

Yiorgos

Malichi showed up justas we were getting ready to go into the den. Once I introduced him to Father, Uncle Sebastian and Yiannis, they took him into another room to speak with him. Uncle Sebastian being the Head of our family probably wanted them to talk to Malichi about his no-good father and what is expected of him now that he’s a Captain in our family.
