When the four of them came into the den, I studied Malichi. He walked in like a true Captain. Head held high and ready for business. I looked over to the elders of the family. They bowed their heads in respect and I did the same. Malichi wasn’t a bad guy. He was just dealt a bad hand in life and needed a chance to show his worth to others.

As Mike handed him the armor suit to put on, Tech had his laptops open trying to see if we could get a ping from a cellular tower to pinpoint Deanna’s cellphone.

“He must have it off with the chip removed. The last location is at the bookstore but if he uses it again to contact Tahir and I’m sure he will, because he’s not crazy enough to use his own, I’ll be able to track it,” Tech informs.

Tahir lets out a frustrated breath. “So, we’re just supposed to sit here on our fucking hands until then? I told you know where some of places his people hang out at. We can bust down each one until we find my sisters.”

“Tahir let’s say we go along with what you’re saying. If we hit the first spot and they’re not there, you know as well as I do Dutch is going to be tipped off that we’re looking for them, which could put Deanna and Zoe in more danger. I can’t have that,” I state, staring him down. “If you can remember the addresses to these places, give them to Tech so he can put eyes on them. Maybe we’ll see the girls before Dutch makes contact. Have you called your parents?”

He waves his hand. “Hell no, the last thing I need is for them to go into hysterics. I just want to get my sisters back and pray our parents never find out about this.”

I hope they never do either. The Lowe’s have been through enough with him being gone and knowing that their daughters have been taken because of this situation with Tahir and Dutch could destroy his relationship with them.

After Tahir gave Tech the addresses, he was able to pull up visuals on two boarded up houses, an abandoned warehouse, and an old grocery store that looked like it needed to shut down by the state. All were located on the Southside in Riverdale. My best guess, Dutch was holding Deanna and Zoe at either the houses, or the warehouse because the buildings surrounding them were boarded up as well and there wasn’t much activity. The only thing that gave me reservations about them was there were no vehicles parked in the front or back, but that didn’t mean the girls couldn’t be at any one of them. The grocery store had people lingering around and cars were parked in front and the back. It must be the neighborhood hangout but that didn’t mean Dutch couldn’t have taken them there too.

“Son, if I may speak,” Father says, getting our attention. “You have four possible places the girls could be at, right?”

“Yes, sir,” I reply.

“You need to plan your objective on how you’re going to overtake each one of them. You can’t focus on just one and until Tahir gets that call, map out a plan for each building. We don’t know which one it is, so it’s better to have a plan of action on all of them until we do.”

“It doesn’t matter which one it is because by the end of the night the body count in Chicago is about to rise,” Alistair says with one of his crazy expressions, aiming his gun at the wall, then imitates like he’s shooting. “Pow, pow, pow.”

Balthazar chuckles, shaking his head. “Uncle Linus is right. Either way we need to be ready when the time comes.”

Over the next two hours we discussed different ways to infiltrate each building. The one we decided on was Tahir going in first, wearing a wire. Dutch and his men would never find it on him because thanks to Tech, it is concealed in a watch Tahir will be wearing. He won’t be able to carry any weapons but for his safety, he’ll have on an armor suit. Tech even gave him a pair of the tranquilizer cuff links we used in Bermuda. Tahir will drive Malichi’s car with the rest of us following at a distance. When he gets inside and we get confirmation Deanna and Zoe are there, we’re going to swarm in there like a pack of fucking wolves.

Once we find out the location of the meet up, Xander, Mike, Blade and Malichi will take the rear while me, Basil, Balthazar, and Alistair go through the front. It was decided that along with Elders, Tech would stay behind, giving us updates through our earpieces. There was no reason to give Jeeves an assignment because he wasn’t going to leave Uncle Sebastian.

As we waited on Dutch to make contact, I told everyone to load up our gear to head into the city to the condos. This was so whenever Dutch did reach out, it wouldn’t take us long to get to him. Outside of the house along with Basil’s SUV, Malichi’s Charger, are the two SUV’s that brought Father and the family. Parked behind them were three other black Tahoe’s with my men waiting for orders.

“Follow us,” I order as Basil, Father, Tahir, Malichi and I get in his SUV. The rest got in the other vehicles. Dutch might have the upper hand right now but shit’s going to change real soon. I just got Deanna in my life, and I’ll be damned if I lose her to this low life scum.

We arrived at Kourakos Enterprises with my men posted up outside. Dutch and his people might’ve taken out my security at the bookstore, but I dare him to try that shit here. Everyone from the valet, hostesses, and receptionists have been trained to deal with conflict after Balthazar had that incident with that fucking worm Trey. The employees here may smile in your face but if they detect something is off, you will find yourself with your neck sliced open, grasping for air. This was an initiative I thought up of.

Just as we’re getting ready to exit the vehicle, Tahir’s phone dings.

From the second-row seat, I scoot up, hoping it’s Dutch.

“It’s a message from Dee’s phone,” he says before opening it up. “It’s the address to the second house.”

Game time. Getting out, everyone is standing around, waiting on us.

I zero in on Tech, “Did you get that?”

“I sure did. I got the hit when Dee’s cellphone was turned back on. It came from the house of the second address Tahir gave me,” he responds.

With Dutch texting the address and Tech confirming that’s where Deanna’s cellphone is at didn’t mean she and Zoe were there. It’s possible Dutch could have them at one of the other locations while he waits to ambush Tahir. Not wanting to take any chances, I tell Basil, “Assign the other three addresses to our men to sit on just in case Dutch has the girls at one of them instead of with him.”

“On it,” Basil says before walking over to the men.

Looking at the others, I tell them, “We already know what to do. The primary objective is to get in and find Deanna and Zoe. Anyone else will be considered collateral damage. Father, you Uncle Sebastian, Yiannis, and Tech go on up to the condo. Tech will keep you all up to date on what’s going on. The rest of you, put in your earpieces and make sure your guns have their silencers attached.”

Pride fills me as they roar in unison. My family. I close my eyes and say a silent prayer that each one of them return the same way they’re going in. We all know going into this type of situation, no one can guarantee there won’t be any injuries, but I pray that none will befall any of them.

Once Basil returned, my men left, going to their destinations. The Elders, Jeeves, and Tech went in the building, heading to the main condo. Before they did, Tech gave a second systems check to make sure everyone could hear him loud and clear through the earpieces.

After that checked out, we jumped in the SUVs with Tahir leading the way in Malichi’s Charger since he knew how to get there without the help of GPS.
