Rook nods. "She was very upset at the thought of anyone else living next door."

"You're not angry, are you?" Dexter asks, frowning as he studies my face.

I shake my head. "God no, why would I be?"

"We picked the house without you," Dex says. His words are careful, like he doesn't want to bring attention to something I may have missed.

I laugh, shaking my head.

Jude sighs, watching Saint with hawk-like intensity. "She can't travel immediately."

Kitten finally sits up. She jabs a finger at Jude. "And you," she says with so much indignation I laugh. "You were a combat medic? Do I even know you at all?"

We all snort at that.

Jude sighs. "I don't care much for talking about myself," he says, grimacing.

Kitten kisses my cheek and finally goes to climb out of bed. Rook lifts her easily, and she stomps over to Jude. He's still seated, but she chucks herself at him. Jude awkwardly pats her back as she squeezes him tight.

"I'm so grateful you were there to take care of Love and the baby. Thank you, Walker," she says, nuzzling her cheek against his.

Jude blinks and nods.

Saint laughs.

"I need to wash my hands so I can hold that sweet baby," Kitten says, heading to the sink.

"I love you," Dex whispers. He pulls my mouth to his.

"I love you, too," I reply, grinning into his mouth.

"Not to be a pushy fuck, but did you assholes forget we're all standing out here in the hall?" Lachlan asks, sticking his head in the door.

I laugh.

"Come on in," I call out.

Saint pops up, carrying the baby to Kitten, who is in one of the tall-backed chairs. Dexter helps tuck the blanket around me as all of Lyric's guys funnel into the room. They're all loaded down with more bags of baby stuff, which is good because we havenothingwith us.

"It's pure chaos," Jude says, crawling into the bed on my other side.

"It sure is," I agree, laughing at the look on his face.

Jude intertwines our fingers, pulling my mouth to his for a slow, licking kiss.

"You know I love you, right?" Jude asks.

My heart pounds rapidly. I grin, nodding my agreement. "I love you, too."

Jude dives for my mouth like we aren't surrounded by a room full of people.

"None of that," Saint says. He's snickering behind his hand. "She's barely popped out the last kid."

"I knew it," Kitten says, grinning at us as she nuzzles Bellamy close to her face. "That sneaky Grandma."

"Warrick is okay," Vince says, cuddling close to my side on the hospital bed. "Issac did a number on the guy, but the cops deemed it necessary to subdue. Meaning no charges will be filed. It was pandemonium anyway. You don't have to worry."

Northern Star's lead singer has serious damage to his face and his vocal cords, but apparently he'll live. Even thinking about it hurts my heart. That poor guy could have been safe if he wasn't trying to help the guys get to me.
