“Yeah.” I chuckled. “But I met this amazing and beautiful woman I fell in love with the moment I saw her.”
“I’m happy for you. I didn’t know you were attending the conference here.”
“Yeah. I leave tomorrow morning. If you’re free later, how about dinner?”
“Man, as much as I’d love to, I can’t. Sidney, my wife, and I are leaving right after my shift for vacation.”
“Excellent. Where are you going?”
“Aspen. Her parents own a ski resort, and we’re spending a week there.”
“Sounds fun. I haven’t been skiing in a long time.”
His pager went off.
“Sorry, Jackson. Work calls. It was great to see you, buddy.”
“If you’re ever in Los Angeles, you better call me.” I pointed at him.
“I definitely will. We have a lot of catching up to do.” He smiled as he walked away.
“Dr. Kind, it’s good to see you again.” I heard a man’s voice from behind.
Turning around, I saw Grayson standing there.
“Dr. Kind.” I extended my hand. “Good to see you as well.” We shook hands.
“Hey,” he shouted across the hall.
“Hey, bro.” Another man walked over.
“Dr. Jackson Kind, this is my twin brother, Dr. Gabriel Kind, Internal Medicine.”
“There’s two of you,” I spoke with surprise.
“It’s great to meet you, Jackson.” Gabriel extended his hand. “My brother told me he met you yesterday.”
“It’s great to meet you too, Gabriel.”
My phone rang, and Georgia was calling.
“I have to take this. It was great to see you again.” I patted Grayson’s back and walked away. “Hey, beautiful.”
“Hello yourself, handsome.”
“Is everything okay?”
“Yeah. I missed hearing your voice, so I thought I’d take a chance that you were available.”
“I missed hearing your voice as well, babe. You are never going to believe what just happened.”
“Now what?”
“I just met Dr. Gabriel Kind.”
“What? Jackson, this is getting weird.”
I chuckled. “I know. He’s Grayson’s twin brother. He’s an internist here at Mass General.”
