“Wow. Mass General has Kind brother doctors just like Cedars. I have to go, babe. I have a patient waiting for me. I just wanted to hear your voice.”
“Okay. I’ll call you later. I love you.”
“I love you too. Facetime sex tonight?”
“Damn right.” I smiled as I ended the call.
CHAPTER12
Jackson
Nothing gave me greater pleasure than getting Simon all riled up. After I hung up with Georgia, I sent him a text message.
“Guess what?”
“What?”he replied.
“I met Dr. Gabriel Kind just a few minutes ago.”
“What do you mean? You told me you met him last night.”
“I met Dr. Grayson Kind last night. Dr. Gabriel Kind is his twin brother.”
“Jesus Christ. Come on. I swear to God, Jackson.”
I laughed.
“I have to run. Talk to you later, cousin.”
“Stop running into fucking guys with the last name of Kind!”
The conference ended, and I hung around for a while, talking with some of the other neurologists and neurosurgeons that had attended. It was seven o’clock, so I went outside and waited for my Uber to pick me up. Letting out a sigh, I glanced at my watch. It had been fifteen minutes already, and he still hadn’t shown. When I checked the status, I noticed he was no longer en route to the hospital.
“What the fuck?”
“Hey, Dr. Kind.” Grayson walked up to me. “Is something wrong?”
“My Uber driver decided he wasn’t picking me up after all.” I sighed.
“No problem. I can give you a ride to your hotel. My shift just ended.”
“Thanks, Grayson, but I don’t want to bother you. I can get another Uber.”
“Nonsense. I’m heading home anyway. Which hotel are you staying at?”
“The Liberty.”
“That’s right down the road and on my way home. Come on. I’m parked right over here.”
“Thanks, Grayson. I appreciate it.”
“No problem. What kind of Kind man would I be if I didn’t help out a fellow Kind?” He smirked.
We climbed into his car, and I fastened my seat belt.
“Have you had dinner yet?” I asked him.
“No. Not yet.”
