“I’ll go back up after we eat. I promise.” I kissed his lips. “But I am going to work tomorrow, and I don’t want to hear one word about it. You act like I’m dying, Dr. Kind.”

“I know you’re not dying, babe. I want you to get as much rest as possible today.”

“I got a text message that my medication is ready,” I spoke.

“I’ll go pick it up after we eat.” He sat across from me.

As we were eating, I couldn’t stop staring at him. I felt sick inside for hurting him the way I did.

“What’s wrong?” he asked.

I slowly shook my head as the tears swelled in my eyes.

“Babe, what is it?” he asked with concern.

“I am so sorry.” I started sobbing as I set down my chicken sandwich.

“Sorry for what?”

I stood up from my seat and sat on his lap, wrapping my arms around his neck and hugging him tightly.

“Georgia, tell me what’s wrong.” He held me as his hands softly rubbed my back.

“I was so wrong yesterday when I told you I wasn’t sure if I was taking your last name after we’re married.”

He broke our embrace, brought his hand to my cheek, and gently wiped the tears from my face.

“You weren’t wrong at all. I was the wrong one.”

“No, Jackson. You aren’t wrong. I love you so much, and I can’t wait to become Mrs. Georgia Kind.”

He cocked his head as a soft smile framed his face, and his hand ran down the back of my head.

“Are you sure, babe?”

“I’ve never been so sure about anything else in my life besides loving you. Please forgive me.”

“There’s nothing to forgive you for.” He pulled me into him and held me tight.

CHAPTER4

Jackson

I let out a sigh of relief as I held her tightly against me. After we finished eating, I took her upstairs and made her get into bed.

“I am tired, so I think I’ll take a nap,” she said.

“Sounds good. I’ll go pick up your medication. I’ll be down at the beach with the guys if I'm not here when you wake up. Just shoot me a text, and I’ll come right back.”

“You go have fun with the guys. If I need you, I’ll let you know.”

“I’m hoping you will need me.” I grinned as I leaned in and kissed her lips.

“Trust me. I will.”

I grabbed my keys and headed to the drugstore. As I walked back to the pharmacy, I saw Jenni standing in the aisle, looking at something she held in her hand.

“Hey, Jen.” I smiled.
