“Ah, no. We promised Ella we’d let her come over for movie night. So, we have to get back. She’s already blowing up my phone. Come on, Georgia.” I lightly grabbed her arm.

“Jackson, hold on for a second,” Aunt Barb spoke. “Let my sons know that Henry will be attending the wedding with me.” The corners of her mouth curved upward into an evil smile.

“Um, yeah, sure, Aunt Barb.”

Georgia snickered as we left the restaurant.

“You did pay the bill, right?” she asked.

“SHIT!” I went back inside and up to the hostess's desk.

After I paid the bill, I climbed into the car and drove home.

“Why the hell am I the one who always has to tell her children things I don’t want to tell them?” I ranted.

“She wants you to soften the blow, babe.” She smiled as she patted my shoulder.

“Henry. What the fuck is with that?”

“It’s his name.”

“No shit, Georgia. And you don’t think that’s fucking weird?”

“A little. But it’s his name, and nothing can be done about that.”

“Well, I can say one thing. I would have run the other way if your name had been Jane.”

“Oh, my God. I can’t believe you just said that?” she cocked her head.

“Really?” I glanced over and arched my brow. “What if my name was Kirk?”

“Good point.” She sighed. “As soon as we get home, the girls are coming over. We’re doing bridesmaid stuff. So that will be the perfect opportunity to tell the guys about our encounter with Aunt Barb and her new man HENRY!” She laughed.

“You think you’re so cute.”

“I know I am because you tell me every day.” She leaned over and kissed my cheek.

As soon as we arrived home, Georgia called the girls over.

“Hey there, little guy.” I took Nicholas from Sofia’s arms. “You are so lucky you’re a baby.”

“What’s that all about?” Sofia laughed.

“Ladies, have I got some juicy gossip for you.” Georgia grinned as she took Nicholas from me.

“Hey. I’m not done holding him yet.”

“Yes, you are. You’re stalling. Grab your beer and guitar, and get the hell down to the beach. Your cousins are waiting for you.” Her grin widened.

“You know what, Dr. Georgia Scott? You are not a supportive person.” I shook my head as I went over to the fridge and grabbed the beer. “Not a supportive person at all.” I grabbed my guitar.

CHAPTER31

Jackson

“What took you so long?” Nathan asked.

“I was holding your son.”
