“Oh. You’re forgiven.” A smirk crossed his lips.

“So, how was dinner at Mastro’s, bro?” Conner grinned, and I wanted to slap him.

“It was fine.” I shot him a look as I set my guitar on my lap.

“What are you hiding, Kind?” Simon asked. “And don’t say nothing. My detective instincts are telling me otherwise.”

“Fine. You want to know how my dinner went? It was delicious. Georgia and I had a great time.”

“Liar. I mean, I’m sure you did have a great time,” Nathan said.

“Tell them who you saw at the restaurant, bro.” Christian grinned.

“Who did you see?” Sam asked.

“Stop!” Simon raised his hand. “If you’re this nervous to tell us, that means it could only have been one person.”

“Who?” Stefan asked.

“Our mother, douchebag. Who else would he be nervous to tell us about?”

“Is that true, Jackson? Did you see our mom at the restaurant?” Sebastian asked.

“Yes. I saw her there.”

“Who was she with?” Simon’s eyes narrowed.

“Some guy.” I shrugged.

“He took a picture.” Conner passed his phone around.

“And you didn’t send us this, why?” Sam asked.

“Because I didn’t want to get involved, and she should be the one to tell you. But then Georgia had to run over there, and she introduced us to him.”

“What’s his story?” Stefan asked.

“I have no clue. We exchanged handshakes, and I got the hell out of there as fast as I could.”

“What’s his name?” Simon asked.

“I only got a first name, and I’m sure that’s how your mother wanted it.”

“And?” Sebastian asked.

I brought the bottle to my lips and hesitated.

“Jackson, come on,” Simon said.

“His name is Henry.”

“WHAT!” Simon shouted.

“Damn. That’s not cool.” Sam shook his head.

“Oh shit!” Conner said as he and my other brothers laughed. “That’s kind of fucked up.”

“I’m literally shaken right now,” Stefan said.
