She gave me a look, and our eyes met.

I forgot why I wasn’t meant to want to be with her.

Especially when she was sitting this close to me, smelling like freesias and vanilla.

I suddenly forgot why I shouldn’t pull her onto my lap, bury my fingers in her hair and claim her mouth with mine.

Meghan reached past me and reached for her mug of coffee, I breathed in her scent, flexing my jaw, wishing I could scoop her up and make her mine right now. She would never have to know what it would be like with some dipshit. She would never have to suffer being with someone who couldn’t take care of all of her needs. There were plenty of guys who didn’t know how to properly fuck a woman. But I did, and she knew it. I’d make her scream my name every night if that’s what she wanted. I’d give her anything. I’d give anything for things to be different, so we could be together.

When we were kids, she had a crush on me, and I teased her mercilessly. Now all I wanted was to fuck her mercilessly. To make her mine, and mine alone. Over and over again.

I looked over and caught Skittles staring at me with his big buggy eyes, as if he could read my mind.

I contemplated her being mine and mine alone as we moved to the table to eat. I smiled as she wolfed down her omelet, glad she had a healthy appetite. Especially after what had happened.

When we were finished eating, I stood up and took the dishes to the sink.

MEGHAN

“WOW.He cooks and he cleans. So domesticated.” I chimed teasingly.

“Only for you, Meg.” Killian shook his head chuckling.

As I sat at the dining room table, watching this unfold in front of me. Killian stood at the sink washing our dishes. I couldn't help but stare at his ass, it looked really good in his jeans.

I sipped my coffee and watched him intently as I remembered I was carrying his baby. I lost myself for a moment, wondering what it would feel like to be a happy little family with Killian. What would that even look like I wondered.

Washing the dishes is a good start,I smiled to myself.

“You look deep in thought there, Meg. What are you thinking about,” Killian said as he looked over his shoulder from the sink. “You thinking about me? Regretting not inviting me into the shower with you?

“No. No I am not, Killian.” I clicked my tongue, and shook myself out of the daydream “I was just thinking… We have a lot to finalize on the project. We have to figure out how to navigate this whole thing. What a mess. What a freaking mess.” I said with a sigh.

“Nothing I can’t deal with, baby.”

“Puh-lease.” I rolled my eyes and flipped him off.

Killian dried his hands and grabbed his laptop, opening it on the dining room table.

“Uhhh, what are you doing?” I asked, realizing he was planning on camping out in my dining room, for what looked like a while.

“It’s 9 am Meg, you're on the clock.”

“Hardly,” I snorted. “Thank you for the breakfast,” I rolled my eyes, “Andfor doing the dishes. But, there is no way you’re camping out here for the afternoon.”

“If that’s the way you want it, Meg.” Killian closed his laptop and stood up.

“Yes.” I nodded confidently.

Good he was listening to me for once.

Killian walked over to the couch and plopped down, opening his laptop again. He wasn't facing me but I could see the corners of his mouth twitching from behind.

“Oh for fucks sake, Killian. Fine. You know what, fine.” I stomped off down the hall to get ready for the day.
