Leave it to Finn to try to shift the guilt and throw the ball in my court.

I frowned. “I never gave you permission. I never agreed to be your sacrifice.”

“You’re a sacrifice either way you look at it. Your daddy—our father—sold you off to a werewolf for fucking and breeding and to make more like you. He did it to see some Alpha Omega prophesy come true but all it did was turn you into a whore whose only purpose is to lie down on her back from some animals.”

Hot blood rushed to my face. I should’ve known he’d play with my emotions like this. “How dare—”

“And look at you. Trying to get out of it by offering yourself to be used up like a sex slave. You—”

“Silence!”

A cloud of dust swept up from the floor violently and the prison cell walls rumbled around us.

“Sister…”Finn appeared shock at my outburst. “Your powers have grown.”

Realizing that I was digging my nails into my palms, I took a couple of deep breaths to calm myself.

I pointed at him. “Don’t call me sister. You don’t get that privilege anymore.”

“You’ve changed. Those devils have changed you.”

“I’ve changed, but not because of them,” I corrected him. “Yet, I can’t deny that they reminded me I’m worth more than what you paint me out to be.”

“Where are they anyway? You’ve never come in here alone before?”

“Never mind that.”

“Never mind that…? Oh, I see…have they used you up and left you?” Finn grinned.

“No. They didn’t leave.” My voice shook with despair.

“You’re lying, sister. Your devils are gone, aren’t they? I wondered why things were so quiet the last couple days.” He rubbed his chin. “Hmmm. Knowing what I know about the Shadow World, they wouldn’t have left this place without a leader, considering they kicked their father out not too long ago.”

I swallowed. “You don’t know anything.”

“I knowsomething.” His eyes brightened. “Just admit it. They’re gone from here.”

“Not by their own accord. We went back to Earth. To Aunt Naima’s shop. To find Mika. Like you suggested. Something took them. Aunt Naima’s magic took them. They disappeared inside a mirror.”

“Took them? Disappeared in a mirror?”

“Yes.There was a globe in her shop with the spell and the magic linked inside. The globe exploded on my demons when Mika threw it at them.”

“Execution on impact, you mean?”

“I guess, but they’re gone. They’re not anywhere I can reach.”

“Could be because they’re not on any realm known to us but in another dimension and time period altogether. Not sure if father ever taught you but they used to use these type of spells to imprison pesky enemies. The problem is the spell’s not reversible.”

Finn would know this stuff. He studied and crafted tricky spells like this.

That wasn’t what Millicent and the Cave witches suggested, but I didn’t tell Finn that. I didn’t want him to know that I had sought others help before and he was a last resort.

“Not reversible,” I said. “Any spell is reversible with the right elements.”

Finn inhaled sharply. “That’s the thing about magic. Possibilities are endless.”

“Well, can it be reversed? Or can I at least get my men back?”
