“Well, I’m going to give you a chance, Finn. And it will be your last chance, so don’t fuck it up.”

I dropped the chains holding him with just a lift of a finger.

He gasped. “I’m free.”

“Not just yet.” I raised my hands and forced him to sit down on the stone chair in the center of the room. “You’re going to do something for me.”

He smiled. “Anything, sister. Anything to be truly free.”

“I—”

“Wait, wait…” He held up a finger, effectively interrupted my request. “Just let me guess. You want me to help you get your lovers back so they can fuck you for all of eternity.”

I sighed, rolling my eyes. “Finn, you’re such a bastard.”

He chocked on a laugh. “We already know that, sister.”

“Let’s cut this bullshit and small talk. Yes, I want them back. I want them back with me.”

“Well, then…” He rubbed his hands together. “Who better to ask than me who knows the exact spell Aunt Naima used to create a prison sphere and the spell to which you can inhabit this prison sphere.”

“Prison sphere?”

“Yes. From what you told me, your auntie wanted to get rid of a certain vampire, thus creating a personal prison hell for him. She failed to lock him up there. Seems she ran out of time…” Helooked away sheepishly. “And your devils ended up in the prison sphere instead, yes?”

“That’s what it seems. I want to get them out.”

He rubbed his chin. “If pulling them out is possible by reversal, it will take sacrifice.”

I put my hands on my hips. “You said something about inhabiting it. That means I can get there. How do I see them again?”

He shook his head. “You don’t want to go down this road.”

“I do.”

“Dang, sister. You really are infatuated, are you?”

“You know something, it seems. So, will you help me or not?” I demanded.

“I want my freedom from here. I want to be left alone. I want your devils to neverevercome after me again. I want us to beeven. Those are simple things. And in return, I’ll teach you the spell to get you to your demons.”

I spun around, biting my lips. I almost blurted out yes, eager to get this done. Who knew what kind of hell they were facing? I was sure whatever it was, they could take care of themselves, but fear of the unknown was what had me so pressed to make things right again and to reverse this dirty deed.

I turned back around, gnawing at the inside corner of my jaw.

Finn waited patiently and the silence between us was just as aggravating as having to hear him talk about how all he wanted was power.

“It’s a deal,” I mumbled.

Finn cupped a hand to his ear. “What?”

“It’s a deal,” I said, this time a little louder.

“See?” He held out his arms open and outstretched. “Two peas from the same pod. I knew you were just as corrupt as me. You’ll do anything including making deals with devils to escape your fate.”

“This is my fate,” I stated.

“We’ll see about that.”
