My pulse quickened as I rushed back outside. I searched the sky, hoping for a glimpse of the dragon that took her. Adrenaline pumped through my veins as anger and frustration took hold of me.

I ran down the street and checked around the buildings. There was nothing, not even footprints.

"Scarlett!" I screamed into the night. "Where are you?"

There was only silence.

I felt like throwing up. I'd failed her again. It wasn't supposed to end this way. She had trusted me with something so important, and I failed.

I sat on the edge of an old bench outside the restaurant. My head was spinning with thoughts. What could have happened? Had someone taken her away from me?

I couldn't stop shaking. I didn't know what to do next, or where to go. Part of me wanted to just give up, but I knew it would be foolish to walk away.

A car pulled up beside me; there were two men inside, one of them was tall and thin with short hair. The other was shorter with long curly black hair and a scruffy beard. They both wore leather jackets. They looked angry.

"What's going on here?" One said. His eyes darted nervously as he spoke.

I stood up and walked towards him. He glared at me as I approached. The man got out of the car.

"It's okay," I said. "Everything will be fine."

He grabbed me by the collar of my shirt and lifted me off the ground.

"Let me go," I yelled.

The other man got out of the car, his eyes filled with rage.

"I'm telling you, everything is cool," I said.

The man tightened his grip on my neck.

"Shit! Look, I don't wanna fight, alright?" I tried to calm him down.

The man tightened his grip and I gasped for breath.

The other man stepped forward and punched me hard in the stomach. Pain shot through my body as I fell onto the ground.

I rolled over. My vision began to blur. I lay motionless on the ground. The pain in my side was unbearable. Rage filled my body, causing me to feel like I would lose control. I jumped back up and swung, hitting the shorter man in the jaw. He stumbled backward into the car and grunted as he grabbed his face.

The other man lunged at me, but I dodged the attack and kicked him in the stomach, sending him to his knees

"Stop!" I shouted.

They both stood up, their faces filled with hatred.

"You're dead," the shorter man said, spitting blood as he spoke.

"We'll see about that," I replied.

I charged at the taller man, his fists raised high. I swung my fist into his chin, and he crumpled to the ground, out cold.

"You're fucking dead," the shorter man growled.

I jumped up and punched him in the nose. Blood streamed down his face as he hit the ground. He struggled to get up. I kicked him in the chest, and he landed back on the asphalt.

Both men were lying unconscious on the ground. I looked around, searching for Scarlett.

She stood across the road, staring at me with wide eyes. She started running toward me. I picked her up and hugged her tight.
