"Yes, let's hope it does. What did you want to talk to me about?"

"Were you by any chance looking for Scarlett yesterday?"

He looked confused by the question and shook his head. "What do you mean?"

I let out a sigh. "Maybe it's nothing, just a weird coincidence. Hell, maybe I’m just being paranoid, but a friend of Scarlett's mentioned that someone knocked on his door asking to speak to Ruby."

"Ruby?"

"Yeah. Like I said, I’m probably overthinking it, but I don't know many guys who walk around like the men in black daily."

Henry laughed for a second then looked serious once more. "Did the man give this friend a name?"

I shook my head, feeling foolish for making such a big deal out of something that probably meant nothing. He watched me for a second, contemplating the situation.

"I didn't hear of anyone looking for Scarlett, but I'll find out who it was. Have you had any luck finding the dark dragon?"

"No. We have been busy just trying to stay alive."

"They figured you out?" Henry asked, sounding surprised.

I shrugged my shoulders. "We knew it was just a matter of time."

"What are you going to do now?"

"Our plan hasn't changed. Scarlett is determined to stay here until she finds her father."

"How do you know her father is still alive?"

"We don't."

There was a brief silence as the reality of the situation set in and I was left with an uneasy feeling that I couldn't shake.

"What do you know about the new queen?" I finally asked.

"The new queen?" Henry repeated, puzzled by the question.

"That's what they are looking for. They want information about where she is."

Henry shook his head. "Until she is ready to reveal herself, no one knows where she is."

"They seem to think Kane knows."

"Really? Why is that?"

"We are still trying to figure that out."

"I'll see what I can find out about the new queen. You just keep yourselves alive. I'll be in touch."

I nodded my head and Henry walked away as lightning lit up the sky.

Thunder crashed, shaking the earth underneath my feet. Bolts of lightning illuminated the sky. I ran in the direction of Drako's house, hoping to beat the storm. My muscles burned and my clothes stuck to my body from the sweat.

I saw Drako's house not far up ahead. The thunder crashed again followed by lightning that hit a tree a few feet from it. The cracking sound echoed in my ears as the tree was split in half. Drops of rain started to fall as I reached the edge of Drako's property. I picked up the pace and made it to the porch before the sky opened up and released the sheets of rain it had been holding in.

From the porch, I watched the storm. Raindrops pelted everything in sight and the thunder grew louder.

"Get inside!" Drako yelled, trying to be heard over the storm.
