A soft breeze brushed across my face, stirring the leaves in the tree above me. I blinked slowly, trying to focus my vision.

Slowly, shapes began taking shape in my blurred vision. An owl hooted, and a raven cawed, its wings beating furiously against the wind. I looked towards the sky to see Drako struggling to survive against the other Shadow Dragon.

My energy was low, but I had to keep moving. I had to make sure Drako survived so we could get Scarlett. I just hoped we weren't too late. After I took a few more steps forward, my legs buckled under me, and I fell to the ground. As my body hit the ground, I saw a black shadow cover the ground around me. I looked up to find an enormous dragon hovering over me. His scales were silver and the light from the setting sun that refracted off them was blinding. I shielded my eyes until the light was gone and along with it, the dragon. I felt myself losing consciousness. I struggled to stay awake but soon everything went black.

"Grayson, wake up!" Drako yelled from what seemed like a distance.

I opened my eyes to find him kneeling over me, back in human form. He helped me sit up while I gathered what was left of my strength, knowing this fight wasn't over yet.

"Did you see it?" He asked as I got to my feet.

"See what?"

"The other dragon. He saved my ass and then disappeared."

"Yeah," I said looking up at the sky, "He did the same for me."

"Was it-"

"Kane?" I shook my head, "He's a fire dragon, like us. This was something else."

"We better find Scarlett," Drako said with panic in his voice.

He reached out and gripped my shoulder. "Whatever Blaise has planned for her isn't good. We have to find her before the Shadow Dragons do."

I nodded and turned to walk away when I remembered something. "Drako? What if the other dragon is still alive?"

He paused, not really having thought about that possibility. "Maybe...we should try to find him," he suggested.

I hesitated and then nodded. If there was any chance the other dragon was still alive, maybe it would help us with the Dark One.

"Let's go. The quicker we find them the quicker we can finish this fight," I said.

Drako nodded and we both ran back the way we came. My eyes darted all around and searched desperately for any sign of the dragon. All our previous battles with Shadow Crest had been a disaster, the Dark Dragon never showing himself once. But this time, this time, he was here. It didn't seem possible, but I knew that it was true. it would be the only chance we had to kill him.

We raced back to the open lot, hoping to find Scarlett and Kane still in one piece. When we got to the lot, my heart dropped. There was no sign of either one of them.

The dark shadow appeared again, hovering over us. I looked up as the silver dragon landed in front of us before he quickly shifted into his human form.

"That's him!" Drako shouted, "That was the man at the door!"

I stared at the man in the black suit. "A dragon? Samuel's a dragon!?"

The man stood quietly for a moment before a smile crept across his face. "Not what you were expecting?"

"How the hell does a dragon turn into a dragonslayer?" I growled, feeling my rage building.

"There is only one dragon I have ever been interested in Slaying and now, thanks to you four, it is finally possible."

"You can kill the Dark One?" Drako asked.

"Of course not, I am nowhere near powerful enough, but she is. Don't let her fool you. She is more powerful than even she knows.

I looked at Drako, who was also looking at the house, searching for signs that they were there.

"Scarlett? Do you think she can kill the Dark One?" I asked.

"She is the Queen. She is the only one who can kill him. As long as he doesn't have his amulet, it should be easy for her."
