It’s nice to have someone ask that. I think the only people who have ever been curious about how my day was are my grandparents.

Me: My day’s been alright so far. Your brother is sitting next to me.

Sunshine: So, I shouldn’t mention how I’m all wet and horny while thinking naughty things bout you?

My eyes about bug out of my head as I beg my cock not to wake up and get excited.

Me: I always want you to tell me that. Always. But I don’t know how I will get through this day without seeing you. I can’t wait until tonight.

Sunshine: I actually needed to talk to you about that. Momma is stopping by tonight, so we will probably need to hold off.

Disappointment smacks me in the face, but it’s not a big deal. Family is important, and I don’t intend on coming between Jenna and hers.

Me: Okay, no big deal. We’re still on for tomorrow, though?

Sunshine: Absolutely. You bring the snacks, and I’ll pick the scary movies.

Me: Sounds like a plan. I’ll text you tonight, beautiful.

Sunshine: XOXO

Standing up, I shove my phone back into my pocket and prepare to get back to work, not having anything to look forward to this evening.

*******************************************

Later that evening, I’m finishing up a couple of things around the house for my grandparents. I feel bad that I haven’t been home as much to help out like I usually do.

When I finish raking some leaves, I head inside to take a shower and clean myself up. After I’m all clean, I make my way out to get a glass of water and a snack.

I wish I could say I was surprised when my grandma sits at the table waiting for me. I should have known that the moment I sat down, she’d be all over me for information.

“Hey, Grandma,” I greet while filling up a glass with some water out of the tap.

“Hey there, stranger.”

There it is.

I take a seat at the table next to her. “Yeah, sorry. I guess I’ve been a little M.I.A. lately. I know I’ve been letting things go around here.”

She waves her hand and shushes me. “Oh boy, I don’t care about any of that. Your grandpa and I can manage just fine. I’m just glad to see you finally found a little bit of happiness.”

I can’t help but smile at how much of a sweetheart she is. “Thanks, Grams. I am pretty dang happy.”

“I’m glad.” She smiles at me, and I wait for the other shoe to drop.

But it doesn’t.

Finally, my anxiety can’t take the silence anymore. “Okay, Grandma, let’s hear them.”

“All the questions you want to ask me.”

She shakes her head back and forth. “I figure you’ll tell me when you’re ready. I can wait.”

“Who are you, and what have you done with my grandma?” I joke.

“Darlin’, I figure it’s about time you get to be happy and have some fun. If you want to keep that a secret for a little while longer, that’s just fine with me.”

“Thanks, Grandma. But just know that I’m sure when you meet her, you’ll love her.”
