“Is that what you called my finger inside of you last weekend?”

She slapped his arm. “Not funny.”

“You said you thought I was,” he complained.

“Not always. But yes, by then, I think we knew there was more. Or enough to tell her. Definitely now. Well, maybe one more thing.”

“What’s that,” he asked.

She smoothed his brows out. “Nothing bad. At least I don’t think so. Grant Fierce came over to talk to Raina and me at lunch today. He was asking about your family.”

He snorted. He knew his mother asked them to help fix him up. No, thank you. He could do this on his own. “I’m sure,” he said.

“Why do you say it that way?” she asked.

“My mother was seen talking to the Fierces a lot. I’m not stupid. I know how Raina and Cody met.”

“You’ve got a problem with that?” she asked.

“I can find my own woman. Just like I did,” he said. “I caught sight of you at the party at Ryder’s. Or more like you caught sight of me.”

“I did,” she said. “Don’t you forget that.”

She said it firmly and he laughed. “That isn’t the one more thing, is it?”

“No,” she said. “Raina made a joke about not needing to meet or approve of the women her brothers go on a few dates with and bring home. Or bring home after a few dates.”

“And it got you thinking I do a lot of that?” he asked.

He hadn’t in a long time. He’d be lying if he said he hadn’t in the past, but he was just too damn busy to do it now.

“It crossed my mind,” she said. “But you did say that you weren’t opposed to Raina knowing about us so that told me it wasn’t the same. I guess I just wanted it verified.”

“You’re right. It’s not the same. Don’t think that.”

He pulled her closer and kissed her on the forehead. He was the last person that did soft tender moves, but this one felt right too.

“Thanks,” she said. “I just needed to hear it.”

Feel Acceptance

Megan took a deep breath and got out of her car in Raina’s driveway.

She’d just gone to the mall and bought a few outfits for Abby—one her brother-in-law wouldn’t approve of, and one that he probably would. She wasn’t sure why it was so important to her to feel acceptance when it didn’t matter that much.

She talked a big game that she was more concerned about what her sister thought than what Tom did, but she did like the dress she’d seen and knew Abby would too.

Most girls didn’t dress up that much, but Abby did like summer dresses.

“Hey,” Raina said, opening the door. “Come in. I can’t wait to show you what we’ve done to the house.”

It’d been a few months since she’d seen Cody and Raina’s place and they’d been making changes and upgrading things all along.

“Show me,” she said. It’d give her time to figure out how to bring up the fact she’d seen Raina’s brother naked not just once, but twice last night. If she hadn’t been so exhausted, she would have tried for a third, but her body had enough. Man, he was intense.

“We painted this bathroom down here,” Raina said, showing her the half bath. “Cody put in a new vanity too. The other one was too small and this is more modern.”
