“My Sherri babyisthe best baby in the world, so you’re probably right.” Lacey spun around, admiring her red dress. Roe had chosen it for her. He’d picked out the clothes for the whole wedding party, all bold colors and unique designs. It was something he hadn’t felt comfortable doing in his wedding with James. Mack was happy to let him do as he pleased.

His own tux was royal blue with black lapels and accents. Roe had enjoyed picking it out for him. “How long do we have?”

“About fifteen minutes.”

The door slammed open and Benji and Min ran inside. Each boy wore deep purple, newsboy style suits complete with hats. They had been inseparable over the last year. Fergie waddled behind them, a teal bowtie hooked to his collar.

“Daddy, it’s time, it’s time.” Benji crashed into Mack’s legs, hugging him tightly. “I gots the rings.”

Mack picked him up and hugged him. “Thank you, sweet boy. You look so nice.”

“Min looks good too, right?”

“He sure does.”

Min preened, then knelt to pet Fergie. “Good doggy.”

“Is everyone else ready too?” Mack asked, tickling Benji’s tummy.

“Yep.”

They played for a few more minutes, until Renee came to the door to fetch them. She wore an emerald green gown with black heels. “It’s time, Benji. Do you and Min have the rings?”

Benji bounced up and down. “Yes!”

“Come on, Fergie.” Min ran out the door, the dog running with him.

Benji giggled and rushed after them.

“Walk, don’t run down the aisle,” Renee yelled. “Dang it. Oh well, that’s Barry’s problem now.”

Abel and Ernie’s father had agreed to help plan Mack and Roe’s wedding after Lacey and Renee’s was finished. He had earned every penny they paid him. It seemed like all of Hobson Hills wanted to see their sheriff married, so it was a very large wedding to plan.

“They’ll be fine. Ladies, are you ready to walk me down the aisle?”

Lacey hugged him from one side while Renee snuggled in from the other.

“What a year, huh?” Renee asked. “You met Roe and fell in love, got shot, fostered your future grandbabies, got engaged, had a baby, and gained three more kids. Shew.”

“I’m a lucky man.” Mack guided them out of the dressing room and into the entry hall of the wedding hall. Roe had chosen an old gristmill for the venue. The place wasrustic chicor something like that.

Barry waved him over. “Okay, the ring bearing terrors have made it down the aisle. It’s time for our handsome as sin sheriff to make his entrance.”

Mack rolled his eyes. “Damn annoying Wilsons.”

Barry grinned that gap-toothed Wilson grin and kissed his cheek. “You love us.”

The familiar notes of “Falling Slowly” began. Mack kissed Lacey’s cheek, then Renee’s. “Time to marry the man I love.”

Lacey sniffled, smiling widely. “I love you, Dad.”

“Love you too, baby girl. I’m so proud to have you at my side today.”

He led them down the aisle, showing off each young lady on his arm. It looked like most of Hobson Hills had piled into the mill, dressed to the nines, to celebrate with them. Roe and Barry had decorated in bold colors, hanging teal, royal blue, purple, red, and gold sheer drapes from the ceiling, making the room look like a colorful palace. Fairy lights lit the place up, and deep green ivy plants lined the rows of seating. Large ferns and colorful orchids accented the front of the hall. Harper and Roe had worked together to create a beautiful, wedding arbor carved with roses twined together.

Gramps was there, ready to marry them. Daphne stood with Benji and Min on one side of him. She wore a gold gown, her dark hair pulled up in a bun on top of her head. His grandbabies, Tommy and Beth, stood on Gramps’s other side. Each were dressed in their own finery, Tommy in green and Beth in blue. Tommy held his tiny aunt, Sherri, in his arms. Mack and Roe’s youngest wore a cute red princess dress. She gurgled happily as he approached.

Daphne wiped her eyes and leaned in for a hug. “Love you, Dad.”
