“And lastly,” he murmurs, stepping into her space. His finger reaches out, and he gently tilts her chin upwards. She shivers at the contact. “Donotinterfere with my plans,” he whispers, his eyes falling to her lips. “I know you think I’m a monster. “What are you planning on doing?” she whispers.
He tilts his head slightly, and he gives her a small smile.

Then he lets her go and steps back.

Her stomach churns.
“Stay away from the front door, don’t try to kill you, and don’t interfere with your suicide mission,” she repeats breathlessly. “Don’t do any of that, and everything will be fine.”
He chuckles, and she finds she enjoys the sound. The smile that spreads across his face is breathtaking, and it infuriates her.
“Close enough,” he says. “You should probably sleep. I won’t keep you from the bathroom or your bedroom.”
How generous of you,she thinks bitterly.
He steps aside as she moves past him and hurries down the hall.

ABEL
She’s loyal to a fault,and he admires it.
She didn’t even hesitate in offering to stay with him in exchange for her best friend’s freedom.
He respects it. He supposes he would do the same for Draven if the situation were reversed.
If he’s honest, he didn’t want to have to deal with another Omega, anyway.
He’d much rather have Hazel to himself, as distracting as she is.
She intrigues him, and not just because she’s an Omega. Her scent is tempting, but her characteristics are what fascinate him.
After she scurries to her bedroom, shutting the door dramatically behind herself, he opens the pack he placed on the couch and takes out the small case of Rut suppressant syringes. As he injects himself with the extra dose, he feels the immediate effects.
Clarity. Energy. Focus.
Hazel’s scent is still there in his system, but it’s not as strong and entirely ignorable.
