Stay with Alpha!

Fuck. She shouldn’t have let him into her bed.

What has she done?

If he notices her existential crisis, he doesn’t acknowledge it. “My father worked in broadcasting,” he says, answering her unspoken question. “I spent a lot of my childhood here.” He kicks open a door, the hinges giving out easily, and they enter a room full of computers and screens.

She’s going to be sick.

On the other side of the room, she spots the inconspicuous door with the hand scanner.

An Omega safe room.

He follows her gaze and scoffs before taking a seat in front of the main control panel. “Those didn’t help you out in the end, did they?” he mutters, then looks back at her coldly. “You still ended up right here, with me.”

She shivers at his tone and looks away.

It’s obvious that she’s hurt him, but she doesn’t have the words in her to apologize.

Why should she, anyway? This is all his fault.

Just because he took care of her when she was in Heat doesn’t mean she owes him anything.

He’s still a monster.

She sits down in a chair near the door and fidgets with the zipper on her hoodie, and he watches her carefully.

“Sit closer. I wouldn’t want you running away. Not before the big show.”

He’s closed off, a mask of indifference painted on his handsome features as he regards her.

“Don’t worry, it would only be to jump off the roof so I could get away from you,” she bites back, even as she moves to a chair closer to him.

He returns his attention to the control panel, powering on the screens. “Dramatic as ever,” he murmurs as he flips a switch. He reaches into his pocket and pulls on a black mask, reminiscent of the one he wore the night they met.

She can only watch in horror as a countdown starts on the largest screen.

He speaks in a calm, clear voice, but she blocks most of the words out.

She knows what he’s doing. His plan all along was to broadcast what he thinks is the “truth” about the injustices happening inside of Lincoln City.

Inside of the military complex on the island.

She doesn’t want to hear it, no matter how much his words might make sense.

There’s a buzzing in her ears as she does her best to block out his speech, but she catches some of it anyway.

“Tortured with pheromones, constant ‘pain training sessions…”

No. She can’t listen. They weren’t lying to her; everyone was telling the truth. Lincoln City was doing the right thing.

“…Alpha and Omega connection is not fatal, not violent…”

She puts her face in her hands. She was proof of that, wasn’t she?

All that she did was prove his point. Shehelped.
