He wants tomateher.

“Fuck,” he groans, reaching into his pocket. The Beta fuckers may have taken his gun, but they didn’t bother to search him for a communication device.

Thankfully, Draven picks up. He rattles off his location, hoping his friend finds him before anyone else that might be listening in.

If all goes well, he’ll see her again.

If everything goes according to plan…

He’ll make them pay for taking her away.

CHAPTER 29

HAZEL

The men won’t shutup as they take the main roads out of the city.

They try to ask her questions while attempting to comfort her, but she just shakes her head and ignores them.

The Beta from earlier that appeared to believe her sits next to her, studying her carefully.

She knows she’s rare. Some people have never interacted with an Omega, and she has a feeling these Betas are in that group.

“Hey, so, what are those rooms like?” the one driving asks, and she meets his expression in the rearview mirror. “You know those places they put ya when you’re in Heat?”

She wraps her arms around herself and stares down at the floor of the car.

“They don’t have rooms for their Heats, asshole,” the kind Beta mutters. “Don’t ask her shit like that.”

“No, I saw one at the grocery store. Shit’s crazy!” the driver chuckles, amused. “It’s like being a VIP, right? You get whatever you want?”

“Our tax dollars go to that.Crazy.”

The two men murmur behind her, rattling off different theories about what she experiences as an Omega.

It’s all incorrect.

Finally, she speaks. “Where are we going?”

“Maitland City. There’s a reunification spot for families there.”

She snorts.

No one will be waiting for her.

“Hey, you couldn’t leave the city before, right?” the driver says, flashing her a yellowed, toothy grin. “Now you can. At least, for a while.”

Great.

“I thought that whole thing was fucked up anyway,” one of the Betas in the back pipes up. “You should go wherever you want. Just because these Alpha assholes can’t keep it in their pants doesn’t mean you should suffer.”

“Thanks,” she mutters.

“Fucking scumbags,” the driver adds, distaste in his voice. “HurtingourOmegas.”

She squirms and wraps her arms around herself tighter.

I’m not your Omega, she wants to say. But she doesn’t think it’s the best idea to start mouthing off to a group of men with more weapons than she’s ever seen in her life.
