“I thought I made it clear about my involvement with this process. I was going to pay for the wedding and walk you down the aisle. That’s it.”

“Last time, I promise. Don’t you like Cassie?” she questions.

I glare at my phone, knowing she can’t see me. “I like Cassie just fine.”

Hell, I more than like her.

As in, I wouldn’t mind taking her to bed again.

“Great! She’s amazing. And you two seem to get along.”

I snort. “I don’t know what you’re smoking, Nora, but what makes you think we get along?”

She doesn’t know about last week. And I’m pretty sure I wasn’t overly friendly the one and only time Nora saw Cassie and me together when we were venue shopping.

She makes an obnoxious noise. “I can just tell. There’s a vibe. Trust me, Theo.”

I roll my eyes to the ceiling. The last thing I need is her getting wind of a vibe between us.

“Look, I’ve got to go. I’ll meet Cassie this last time. But I’m done, do you understand, Nora?” I tell her as I stand from my desk.

“Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you. Last time, I promise.” She swears and I don’t believe her for a second.

“You better tell her this time. It’s rude to communicate last-minute. You know better,” I chastise my little sister.

“I know. I still feel really bad about that lunch.” Her tone sounds light.

“Sure sounds like it,” I mutter.

“Love you, Teddy,” she singsongs before hanging up.

I grab my folio and pull my SurfacePro off the docking station, then stuff my phone into my pocket. I head toward the conference room for my meeting, not wanting to make my employees wait.

I don’t know why Nora insists on keeping me involved in this planning. I’m going to have to be firm. But I don’t hate the idea of seeing Cassie tonight.

Actually, going a few rounds with the sexy spitfire would be a rather enjoyable treat in the middle of this hectic week.

Arriving at the conference room, I find I’m not the last person here, so I take my seat at the head of the table and pull out my phone. I find Cassie’s number in the last email she sent me. Programing her cell into my phone, I fire off a text.

Me:

My sister has done it again. How many times do you allow clients to do this before you fire them?

Three little dots show up on the screen and then disappear. Our head of marketing pops her head in the room, letting us know they had an issue with the copier and are running a couple minutes behind. I start to say something about the fact that I have another meeting in forty-five minutes, when my phone chimes.

Cassie:

Is this Mr. Abbot?

I roll my eyes at her formality.

I thought we were done with the formalities. After all, I’ve had my tongue on your sweet pussy.

Three little dots dance on screen, then disappear. Then dance again. Leaning back in my seat, warmth spreads through my body, knowing she’s remembering exactly what my tongue did to give her the first of four screaming orgasms that night.

You’re making me blush, Theo.

Good.
